Communic

About Communic

A Norwegian progressive metal crew who combine blistering technical acuity with sharp melodic hooks, Communic emerged in 2005 with the acclaimed Conspiracy in Mind. Since then, the band has issued a string of well-received studio efforts, including The Bottom Deep (2011) and Hiding from the World (2020), that deftly weaves together elements of thrash, power, and progressive metal. Communic were formed in 2003 by vocalist/guitarist Oddleif Stensland, drummer Tor Atle Andersen, and bassist Erik Mortensen following the demise of Stensland and Andersen's previous band Scariot. Quickly signed by Nuclear Blast Records, the trio recorded its debut album, Conspiracy in Mind, for release in mid-2005, followed by tours alongside sonic contemporaries Ensiferum and Graveworm. The well-regarded Waves of Visual Decay arrived the following year, with Payment of Existence dropping two years later. In 2011 the band issued The Bottom Deep, which would be their last sudio outing for Nuclear Blast. Communic moved to German metal label AFM for the release of their fifth studio long-player, 2017's Where Echoes Gather. Three years later they unleashed Hiding from the World. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
