Decapitated

About Decapitated

One of technical death metal's most vital and enduring acts, Poland's Decapitated was founded in the late '90s by guitarist Wacław "Vogg" Kiełtyka and his younger brother, drummer Witold "Vitek" Kiełtyka. The group debuted in 2000 with the seminal Winds of Creation, which was recorded while all the bandmembers were still in their teens. Subsequent albums Nihility (2002) and The Negation (2004) helped build Decapitated a robust international fan base. The group disbanded in 2007 after an automobile accident claimed the life of Vitek, but they re-formed two years later. Since then, they've remained at the forefront of the extreme metal scene, issuing acclaimed efforts like Blood Mantra (2014) and Cancer Culture (2022) that pair virtuosic musicality with unparalleled aggression.
