About Hatebreed

Metalcore band Hatebreed formed in Connecticut in 1994, taking their name from the Misfits song “Hatebreeders.” ∙ Frontman Jamey Jasta said his favorite collaboration was with his hero, Slayer guitarist/founder Kerry King, who “shredded” on Hatebreed’s 2002’s cut “Final Prayer.” ∙ From 2003 through 2007, Jasta hosted the reboot of MTV’s metal series Headbanger’s Ball. ∙ Hatebreed’s “Live for This” was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2005. ∙ To promote their 2009 covers collection, For the Lions, the group issued an iTunes-exclusive single from the album every Tuesday for the five weeks before its release. ∙ According to Jasta, their first album to top Billboard’s Hard Rock chart—2013’s The Divinity of Purpose—was “all pit, no s**t.” ∙ The band’s fusion of hardcore punk with heavy metal has won them enough fans to catapult their last three releases into the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hard Rock Albums chart.
