I live in a studio apartment and my one light in constant use is my floor lamp right by my couch. My previous one just stopped working. I wasn't too disappointed for it was ok looking but nothing great. I then searched high and low and finding an adequate quality lamp at a reasonable price was very difficult. Some were extremely high in price and much more than the basic lamp I needed. I couldn't find any simple floor lamps of this height in local stores and luckily I do most of my shopping on Amazon. One would think buying a lamp would be simple. But a couple of issues with a torchiere floor lamp like this are very important to me. It would be the main light in my apartment so I want to make sure the shade will spread a quality amount of light. Some shades are more frosted and it limits the light exuded. Next is the look. I knew I wanted a black base with a somewhat modern look. This lamp seemed like the best choice and I've been thrilled with it.
Yes, it is just a simple lamp but buying a simple product doesn't mean it still shouldn't deliver. This is a put together lamp with a plastic shade. It was very easy to assemble and some attention was actually put into its base design. It is a basic lamp but it is attractive. It looks much more expensive than it is and the shade is also attractive and allows a great amount of light to be emitted. It's served my purpose greatly and not only does it fit in well with my modern design but would fit into almost any style of decor. A quality product at a good price.
