Additionally, Fern's mother often disappears to meditate, while older brother Holden who is being bullied at school and is struggling over whether to come out as gay pushes Fern away. Things become nearly unbearable when Fern blames herself for a tragic accident that rocks the family to its core. Luckily, Fern's closest friend, the perpetually serene Ran, and, indeed, her family help her find a glimmer of hope amid powerful grief. Through the eyes of Fern, Knowles (Lessons from a Dead Girl) introduces a cast of distinct, fully developed characters who exhibit authentic emotions, foibles, and expressions of love. Readers will feel deeply for the family in the aftermath of the plot's heart-wrenching turn, which pulls them closer together. Ages 12 up.

So good words cant explain
I found this book at my school library, and i knew i was gonna check it out after reading just the first sentence. I read the book in about 3 days i think. I literally could not put it down. Holden is defiantly my favorite character. A lot of tears were shed during this book between the troubles (and happiness) Holden faces, and sweet little Charlie *no spoilers*. Was such a good, meaningful, sad book. I dont even kno what to say besides thumbs up you must read this book. 5 stars absolutly

Love it😍 don't give bad ratings just because it's sad
1. It's supposed to be sad so stop giving bad rates when it makes you cry, you should bump up the rate
2. I love it💙 it's so touching and it made me sob uncontrollably💙😭I totally recommend it but it does include some sensitive topics about death and grief(just a warning💙) i would read this over and over if i had the time💙💙💙💙💙💙
