Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

The Little Nutbrown Hare, along with the Big Nutbrown Hare, explore the world around them, tackling weather, sounds, numbers, and more in this interactive concept book. Gentle watercolor illustrations, dialogue between the two animals, and a lift-the-flap feature all work to make this a treat for fans of the Little Nutbrown Hare.—Mahnaz Dar, School Library Journal

Review

This father-and-son relationship is lovely and their habitat delightful.

Sent for our grandbabies first Easter, purchased two as we have a new granddaughter and new grandson. Very sturdy and perfect for small kids.

More than love.

The book doesn't really have a story, it's just listing things off that you can do (done by a hare so not sure my daughter understood what he was supposed to be doing), a few animals, some counting etc. In concept it's great, and the flaps that 'hide' things seemed like a good idea but all it takes is baby/toddler getting a hold of the book behind the couch and now the tabs are all off. They're just a thick paper so ripped off really easy (it had been put supposedly out of reach to avoid this but someone climbs). The colors are so bland and washed out they won't interest most babies, who prefer vivid shapes and colors (I sometimes had to really search for the flowers it was talking about on page because they're so small). There are just a lot of better books out there.

No esperaba que fuese tan grande por el precio que tenía, así que estamos encantados, sobre todo mi hijo, que no para de leerlo y de levantar las pestañas que tiene para ver los colores, animales..en resumen que está genial!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Lovely book but American spellings
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 15, 2015
This is a lovely book, as all of the Nutbrown Hair books are. However, it's obviously an American publication, with American spellings and words (color and ladybug). Nice book, but I'll be sending it to my American nephew rather than keeping it for my English little boy!
