Purchase options and add-ons
Speechless: Tales From The System is a coffee-table art book of one of the most significant activist artists of our generation. Spanning three decades, Speechless covers the career of artist Peter Kuper from his co-founding days of World War 3, to Rolling Stone's "Comic Artist of the Year, to major magazine cover illustrator and beyond. This hardcover collection includes dozens of unpublished illustrations and wordless comics, rendered in Kuper's unique stencil-style, the same style that helped to revamp the look and feel of the world renowned Spy vs. Spy. Speechless will also include essays and anecdotes on his experiences as a comic art expert in a landmark obscenity trial; a step-by-step discussion of the process of illustrating covers for magazines; commentary on creating the very first comic strip to appear in the hallowed New York Times; and tales of harrowing travels spanning the globe.

His color work, and graphic storytelling style, are very well done and on the verge of genius at times. He is the real deal.
I don't know what his art background is..but his comics are deceptively simple, undernieth the surface is keen art talent. He looks like a trained artist.
This guy's work is often unique, and very cool to look at. This is a compliation of his work in large format.
This is a large format book, very pretty, and fun to page through. As a fan, I enjoyed it. Well done.
Kuper is a modern master of cartooning, doing some really unique things.
He is the "new" Spy vs Spy guy for MAD, but that is the least of his resume. His ability to tell wordless stories in a highly stylized and totally cool graphic format is brilliant.
Kuper is working in the art form of comics and cutting some very interesting ground. As a fan and historian it's cool to see this guy at work during my time.
