Queen's Quest 2: Stories of Forgotten Past 12+

I enjoyed the story and the mystery. I love stories that don't involve demonic forces being behind bad behaviors. The graphics are brightly colored, nicely staturated, and beautiful. I love that the purple circle closes when I have found the puzzle pieces and/or the morphing objects. Some puzzles kind of leave you hanging so you are not 100% sure if you found everything. Figuring out what I need to do with something is easy but not to the point where it is boring (at least not for me). There are two things I don't like, however. This game is not fully compatible with my M1 imac. It gets stuck or is sluggish during hidden object games. I found a work around, though, I just move my fingers around very quickly on my trackpad. That only briefly unsticks the cursor so I have to keep doing it but no big deal at least I found a work around. The second thing I don't like is that some of the hidden object games involve blindly guessing what something is hidden under. Overall though I am enjoying this game and I think it was money well spent.

I had my doubts at first, but when I got started it quickly got me hooked. I have never played this type of game before. However, it is easy to pick up the way the game works. The graphics are actually pretty good, the story line is interesting and unique. I liked how they tied all the different stories together. What really drove me to distraction was finding the puzzle pieces. I found all but one. When I thought I had finally found the last piece I couldn’t click on it to pick it up.

When you finish the game, there is no way to go back and review areas that you might have missed, you have to restart the game and go through everything all over again. This is why I gave it only four stars. As mentioned earlier, I missed some pieces of the puzzle and had to repeat the game three times to find them all. And again, when I got to the final piece I couldn’t pick it up. Pretty frustrating.

Another consideration - I am using a MacBook Pro and the game drained my battery within 20 minutes. Plan on charging regularly if you play with a MacBook.

Overall, this game was a lot of fun. I purchased it at 50% off, and it was worth it. I am not sure I’d pay full price for it.

Nice game but too easy for the 12 rating. However, I think it would be a great intro game for young gamers.
