About AOA

AOA—short for Ace of Angels—entered the K-pop scene as an eight-member female act that would switch between being a dance-pop group and a band with instruments. • The main choreography-focused AOA featured every member except Youkyung, who only joined as the drummer alongside Yuna, Choa, Mina, and Jimin for the rock/pop-focused AOA Black. • In 2014, AOA found their breakout moment with the single "Miniskirt." The slinky, sultry pop sound produced by K-pop hitmaker Brave Brothers became AOA's signature style. Brave Brothers and AOA teamed up for several additional K-pop hits, including “Like a Cat,” “Heart Attack,” and “Short Hair.” • The group’s vocalists blend numerous styles. Their most famous songs are anchored by Choa’s raspy yet powerful delivery and Yuna’s strong, stable vocals. Jimin's animated hype-woman rapping also became a fixture in AOA songs.
