Praised by the Eagles’ Glenn Frey as “the best singing band in the world,” Little River Band has sold more than 30 million records since forming in Melbourne, Australia, in 1975. ∙ The soft-rock harmony group’s 1977 single “Help Is On Its Way” was their only Australian chart-topper and their first to enter the US Top 20. ∙ Between 1977 and 1983, Little River Band had 10 Top 20 singles on the Billboard charts, including “Lonesome Loser,” “Take It Easy On Me,” and “Cool Change.” ∙ Their laidback 1978 hit “Reminiscing” has been played on American radio more than 5 million times, and the love song “Lady” is a close second, with upwards of 4 million airplays. ∙ Famed Beatles associate George Martin produced their sixth studio album, 1981’s Time Exposure, which included the hit “Man On Your Mind.” ∙ The group’s first US compilation, 1982’s Greatest Hits, was certified double-Platinum. ∙ In 2004, Little River Band was inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame.
