I'm going to start with the bad, because it seems a lot of the reviews on this product focus on that. Yes, this monitor has light bleed. Take a look at my picture. Most of the bleed is on the right side top and bottom corners. In a dark room with a complete black screen it's very noticeable (but it does look worse in a picture than it does in person). I could focus on the fact that this is not a perfect monitor and the light bleed seems excessive, but honestly it doesn't bother me one bit. This monitor is just too good in all other areas to let that bother me. And the light bleed has had zero impact on my in-game experience. I never notice it, even during dark scenes because when watching motion on the screen it's just not noticeable to me.Now, let me focus on the good...this monitor has taken what I thought was a decent gaming experience on my high quality Dell 60Hz monitor and showed me what a gaming monitor can do! I've been living with screen tears and motion blur my whole gaming life not realizing what high refresh rate along with G-sync can deliver and this is beyond what I could have imagined. I just finished Call of Duty Modern Warfare and this game was gorgeous! Absolutely smooth as butter with frame rates in the 60-100 range. But what's key to me is that 60-100 never felt different. It just ran completely smooth the entire time. Moving the mouse quickly to turn around caused no screen tear at all. Aiming was so much crisper and kills came much more naturally...feeling more connected to the game through my mouse and keyboard. I'm so spoiled with this monitor and won't ever go back to a traditional 60Hz monitor to game on ever again!Other notes on this monitor that I really enjoy...the base is extremely solid and heavy. It has small rubber feet on the bottom that keeps it from sliding, and it really doesn't take up that much more room than my old monitor. It has all the configuration options I could need. It allows for lower/raise, up to 90 degree rotation, and right to left swivel, and it stays in place, no drooping.My monitor has no dead pixels (whew!). The on screen display is a bit cumbersome to use, but it does it's job and once I found the settings I like I don't really need to pull it up very often. The speakers on this monitor are pretty mediocre, but I have a set of computer speakers and mostly game with headphones, so that isn't an important feature for me. It has 2 USB 3.0 ports which are very handy, but I felt like the USB cord was about a foot too short...I had to use a USB extension cable to let the cable reach my computer. But the Display Port cable was plenty long, so I'm not sure why the USB cable couldn't be the same length. But having high speed USB on my monitor is great.Overall I'm extremely pleased with this monitor. I researched what monitor to buy for several days, and came down to this one and the Asus PG279Q. After doing research on the two, I learned that they both use the same underlying display panel, so the difference came down to aesthetics and price, and this monitor was a much cheaper option at my time of purchase. So I'm confident I made the right purchase. If you're into gaming and want to take it to the next level, I would recommend this monitor for sure!
