Installation took about an hour. Our old floor fan was too loud and we couldn't hear the baby monitor at times. This fan is so quiet!!! You really want to make sure it is secured because its highest level is quite powerful (I didn't have a cieling fan mount so I used their included additional screws for extra support.)
