As a suggestion when preparing for your installation, do not peel the backing off the adhesive strip just yet. Instead, using masking tape or painters tape - temporarily- attach the light strip to the back of your TV, moving the light strip in or out from the edges until you find the spacing needed to successfully make it around the entire perimeter without coming up short. Where to place the strip, how far in from the outer edge, is there an ideal placement? It seems many agree ideal placement for these light strips is around 2.5 inches in from the edge of the screen although the included installation instructions simply say to install them within 4 inches of the edges. In my particular installation with the XL kit on my 65” TV I discovered placing them 4 inches in from the edge I had over a foot of excess but placing them at 2.5 inches in from the edge I was a couple inches short. In the end I discovered by placing the outer edge of the light strip in 3” from each edge I was able to make it all the way around my 65” TV perfectly with no unlighted spaces and no excess overlap. Practice testing the placement and you will be much happier with the installation and end result.
Some have stated they purchased the correct kit for their TV according to the information provided, but in the end… the kit was not long enough to surround the entire perimeter on the back of their TV. They were either short several inches or a several inches too long. To avoid running into that issue I read the description for every kit.
There are various choices for the Luminoodle kit based on size and color options. The screen sizes listed within the variety of available options to chose from indicates the XL is for 41”-59” TV which seemed to indicate it would be too small for my 65", however if you view the various images to the left of the listing you will see an image showing a diagram of different TV screen sizes, The image for the XL indicates it is good for 55” to 75” which should work for my 65". See attached photo in regards to confusion.
I wanted to make sure the kit I purchased would make it around the entire perimeter. Should I select my kit based on the diagram showing TV screen sizes and corresponding kit or the make my selection based on the size indicated in the various size and color option available to select? After much research I ended up ordering the X-Large for (41-59”). Regardless of the size you order, as you might imagine, the larger you make the height and width of the rectangle of lights on the back of your TV, the longer strip you are going to need.
My TV mount is fully adjustable. During my installation placement experiments I discovered when the light strip was placed very close to the outer edge of the TV and the TV close or flush with the wall, the lighting brighter - but - the light strip produced bright spots where each LED abutted the wall. Whereas, when the TV was pulled further away from the wall the light had a chance to disburse into a more even glow. Moving the light strip in further away from the outer edge of the TV eliminated the bright spots around the TV and produced a more even the glow but was not as bright. I was able to compensate for the brightness using the remote and turning up the brightness level. Very pleased with the end result!

Easy to install and many brightness and color options. Bias lighting doesn't get any better.
When I continued the chat via email, the upper tier person then said they were in a meeting at the time when the chat was ended. They ended saying this problem of remotes not being packaged would be sent to their internal team to be investigated, to which I argued no investigation is necessary, anyone can see by the customer comments, especially when asking did anyone else not get a remote, that many haven't, despite the description saying it comes with one.
Several days went by and still no response, so here I am trying to chat with them again. Every time you chat with them it takes well over an hour, last time about 2 hrs! The first time I chatted with them they said the problem was I bought it from a sub vendor (Blue Apex), but I proved to them with a screenshot that their own Amazon Store showed Blue Apex as shipper and seller. The 2nd one I ordered said Amazon shipper, Power Practical seller, and STILL no remote! This is starting to look like a scam business!
*****UPDATE!*****
I decided to give another chat session a go, despite the frustrations mentioned above. I was skeptical it would do any good since I had gotten zero response after several days from their "internal" team. Fortunately this time a guy named Ace on their chat service immediately recognized the stress I'd been put through after reading the transcripts. He quickly agreed the remote AND inline controller are required to use the claimed included remote. He also expedited the delivery of them.
A few words on getting it to work. 1) Yes it takes some skill to do it even when you have everything you need. 2) As mentioned the plugs do not fit snugly and precisely like a true metal box style USB plug. Thus if your lights don't turn on or flicker, you need to wiggle the plugs until they stay one. 3) As also mentioned the backing tape need be carefully peeled away from the foam sticky strip under it. I recommend a single edge razer blade like you put in a box cutter, some good tweezers, and reading glasses. If you so much as get one corner of the red backing tape peeled, and manage to then get about a 1/6" of the entire end pulled back, you can hold down the sticky foam tape against the strip, while you peel away the red tape with the tweezers.
I also took care to place the power cord and controller dongle horizontally to avoid any possible loosening of the plugs due to dangling vertically. This may be hard to do with most TV mounts, I happened to buy a Pearlsmith older model here that was on sale for $30, which has horizontal mounting brackets vs vertical. The top bracket worked perfectly to lay the cords along the top of, and I even used mini zip ties on the outer ends of each plug to hold them there and prevent any possible tugging when I occasionally swivel my TV stand.
The corners can be hit and miss, it's great if you wind up with the flexy non metallic part of the tape on them, a bit more involved if not. I got two of each, the ones that didn't line up well I just put a gentle angle bend on the tape and let it rise up a bit there.
I would advise Power Practical to consider at the very least making the plugs a bit bigger with more square vs rounded corners so they fit well into a USB port. They should also IMO hardwire the inline controller dongle to the light strip so you only have one plug to deal with. The remote is IR so it's best to think carefully where you put the 3 button controller, it needs to be in a place easily within line of site of the remote either while you're seated, or in my case, standing near the TV with arm outstretched to one side aiming at the back. I'm OK with that because my last ambient light was one I Gerry rigged out of a 18" under cabinet fluorescent lamp, a long extension cord I cut the outlet end off, and an inline toggle switch I put near the plug, which was a bit more bending and reaching than this setup.
I would also advise Power Practical promote Ace to head of customer support. He truly is an "ace in the hole", although it would have been better had they not let their biz become a dark hole to the point where the customer feels lost and neglected.
