After reading all the hub bub on music boards I thought I'd give this drive a spin. I have many drive pedals and some very much favorites vintage to current. This pedal is in a class all of it's own. It's more of a distortion pedal than an OD. It arrived with the back loose and I'm guessing the trim adjusted down maybe to about 25%. I opted to test without adjusting and it was perfect as is. With the gain full down it's a little ballsier than an OCD. I have gain set about 11 o'clock, same with treble and presence. Tight about 10 o'clock, bass about 1 o'clock. Pushing the Plexi and my small check 60a cab with this pedal is absolutely amazing. I brought in a 69 small box and 60b cab in tandem and I couldn't believe how good this pedal sounded. Pushing them hard but not to the point of causing hearing loss is necessary to get this pedal to shine..;) It really inspires to play, and not just EVH style chops. Works really well for classic hard rock. I have other pedals I prefer for blues with my rigs. This is not for that niche. Just buy it already, you won't regret it. It is what they say it is. It's one of the best buys I've invested in a pedal in years, and I've spent plenty.
