The unusual problems come in when trying to play it from Amazon Download. First make sure you install it by running the setup from the download folder (Setup) by selecting Run as Administrator.
1.) If you have a multi-monitor (extended) setup you will need to either disable the second monitor or change it to multi-monitored (Mirrored).
2.) The initial run from the install will work properly but with Windows 7 you may run into an issue where the game will not start from the desktop shortcut explaining that the install was not completed properly and you need to re-install. Right click and change it to compatability mode Windows XP SP3.
Once this is finished you should not have any problems.
I wrote to Amazon and asked for a Steam code, to see if it'll go that way, but I guess that isn't an option in this case because they just refunded my money, as a 'special case'.
The game is marked as 'not refundable' and 'not returnable', but Amazon is awesome like that. The customer comes first. Amazon has never failed me, even when the actual selling company tries screwing me. I doubt Steam would even be that good, and I love Steam too.
This game is not a "must buy", so I won't even bother trying through Steam.
As others have said, the code is broken and I even tried to fix it talking to... eww... SecuROM. They gave me the runaround and didn't listen to a thing I said. Evil company and Amazon supports them...
Interesting thing is that it's already been proven that DRM encourages piracy, while DRM-free lowers it. Indirectly, this would mean SecuROM supports and makes money from piracy...
