I bought this camera because I could use it on my truck when backing up, but then swap it to a camper when backing that up. I haven't had a chance to field test it with the camper yet, but it definitely works great on my truck.

The only issue I ran into was the instructions say to install "Safety Cam" for Android. I had an email from the vendor saying to install Safety Eye, but went with the included instructions. The problem was not one I could easily foresee - another app on the Google Play Store was listed as "SAFETYcam", which I accidentally installed. It does not work with this camera at all, but I certainly don't blame EWAY. I did not test Safety Eye, as "Safety Cam" worked just fine once I figured out what was going on. Night vision works (my truck's back windows are tinted, and I cannot see anything at night), and the picture is better than my wife's 2016 SUV camera.

If you were looking for a camera to stick on something and never move it, I would question why you would rely on a magnet instead of a permanent mount. The magnet is strong, but not 85 mph down a bumpy road strong (no magnet is).

Has made hooking my camper up to the truck much easier. Unit is well made. Downloading the app was a breeze and setting it up took very little time.

My phone may be the issue for the signal issue so I would like to try downloading the app to my son's Samsung S22 to try it. I have a Samsung A53 so I know my phone is not as good.

Major Connectivity Issues

Purchased this as I was looking for a good quality backup cam so I can line up my tow receiver without going back/forth multiple times without a spotter. In theory, this should do the job, but... it doesn't.

Connectivity between my iPhone and the camera is very difficult to achieve. It takes multiple attempts, and failures, until it finally locks in. Then, when I place the camera on the bumper, signal drops as I take a few steps to get inside my vehicle. From the back seat, it's connected. From the front seat, it drops. I drive a 2-door Jeep Wrangler; it's a very short wheel base. I also live in a rural area; there are no wireless signals at my house that would interfere with this device.

I tried playing with it for a few months, then gave up entirely. I'm a tech-savvy person, but this product just doesn't work. Even worse is that by the time I decided to give up, I was outside the grace period for an Amazon return, so now I'm stuck with it.

Don't be like me - Save your money and think twice before purchasing this magnetic paper weight!

If the instructions were right and the software improved (iPad compatibility)… and the display a bit brighter, then 4.5* for the price.
I wasted an evening trusting the instructions and failing, wrote support (without any response*). That evening I figured out the instructions were wrong & the camera working. For this release at least:
* Don’t wait for the wi-fi response (green light) when “pairing”. It does not come on. Red power light only. Try to connect, mine worked.
* I initially connected with iPad Pro, my intended primary monitor. Was pleasantly surprised at video in general. Not as poor as some reviews suggest. However, it is not “scalable”, can’t zoom and does not fill iPad screen. I presume that’s due to aspect ratio difference from iPhone, which software seems to prefer. iPhone viewing is very good, other than slightly dim, which may be the phone, not the camera. I have not tried night vision yet.
* So far I’ve used this “system” to, separately, hitch my tractor and SUV to a utility trailer several times, works just fine. I suggest you use your phone to confirm aim before getting in the driver’s seat. Camera angle is not wide enough to just wing it.

Were the display a bit brighter and fit the iPad better I could also use this camera to watch implements on my tractor 3pt hitch… which was a major reason for buying.

Security Camera Bonus: I used this to watch my loaded trailer while shopping for camping groceries! As long as I was within about 150’ it seemed to stay connected. There was no “disconnect warning”… not sure it ever disconnected and have not re-tested that. Not a lot of motion around the trailer when I was checking, but I did watch customers leaving the store walk by a few times.

2 months now since I have this camera. I use it to hitch my 4X4 onto my caravan. My 4X4 number plate and reverse light is off center to the left and installing a hard wired camera is impossible. This camera unit comes in real handy as I can position close enough to the tow vehicle centerline to see the hitch. Be aware, you need to turn on Location on your phone for it to work, and refresh your phone Wi-Fi IPRO network when reconnecting. Excellent unit, clear image and strong magnetic hold. Highly recommended.

I'm a truck driver and have to get into some really tight spots with a 45ft or 53ft trailer. It actually surprised me that it worked so well. It only gets around 20-25fps at that range but it's good enough that at least your not completely blind. The magnet is strong but I'm not sure I'd trust it going over speed bumps and railroads so I attached an additional chain but so far it hasn't fallen off.

I am a truck driver. I bought this camera to use at the rear of the trailer, to assist me with judging how far to back up to other trailers, walls, etc. Also in case I have to back up unexpectedly, to see if there are any people or cars behind me.

1st off, I’m not overly impressed with the magnet strength. I made a tether cable for it, and thankfully I did, because it did fall off once on me.

It says that it has 100’ range with no obstacles, and says recommended length of vehicle is 35’. I have not tried the 100’ claim & I would say that the 35’ trailer length is about right. When I have it mounted towards the rear of my 53’ trailer, it comes in & out while driving, but seems to work pretty good once I stop for a few seconds. I knew it was a stretch when I bought it whether it would work for me, if I knew exactly how it would work, I’m not sure I would have bought it. Definitely recommend for anyone who wants use it within the 35’ range, it should work great.

Lastly, I don’t like the plug to cover the charging port. After about 4-5 uses, now it does not plug in without a struggle. I can get the “usb” part to plug in, but the round hole for the direct wiring doesn’t seem to like going in. I can usually get it in most of the way after messing with it for a minute or two, but I wonder how water proof it’ll be if I use it in rain.
