Frankly, I don't want to spend too long writing a review for this so I'll make it easy on everyone and
lay out the good, the bad, the ugly.
-The Good-
+Assembling the printer was a very straight forward experience.
While there is an included guide and many videos online instructing how to assemble it, I was able to do it by eye and get it running in about 10 minutes (just be sure to check the back of the printer and make sure the voltage is correctly set for your region.)
+The printer is relatively quiet.
If you grew up with a tower computer during the 2000's, I would say it makes as much noise as a HDD and some fans. In my opinion, it's quiet enough where it won't be a hindrance if you decide to run it while you're sleeping.
+Autoleveling is not just a matter of convenience, it's a godsend.
With the amount of precision the printer needs for a proper first layer, you'll be doing it constantly as even the small changes (aka, removing the print or bed, cleaning the bed, adjusting the printer) can offset it entirely. Don't want to
+While you can purchase the V2 or original Ender 3 for nearly half the price during sales, crunch the numbers and you'll quickly see that the overall price you'll be paying for upgrades to even match up to the V3's performance/capabilities will end up being far greater than the price of the V3.
There's certainly an appeal with the older models if you're the kind of person who likes to modify/tune things especially with how much of a community is built around them, but if money's your concern, don't be fooled into thinking you won't want to spend it on things like autoleveling, faster printing, sturdier shafts, etc.
+The steel plate bed that comes with it is VERY adhesive. A little too adhesive frankly, but I'll get into that in a little.
-The Bad-
+The customer service is painfully bad and you'll hesitate trying to reach out for help when you need it. The customer service chat on their website are basically just there to pass along your request/message, their email support won't respond to you for a week or just not at all, and their only phone number is in China so if you don't have worldwide service, you won't be able to call them.
It's rare for me to say this, but I'd highly recommend you buy through Amazon rather than their official website as you'll be far more likely to get a refund or support if something ends up happening.
+The autoleveled Z-offset is occasionally highly inaccurate and can cause permanent damage to your bed. Because of this issue, the aforementioned adhesion of the steel plate bed can become a hindrance where you won't be able to remove your prints without a tool, or it will be so stuck to the plate that removing it chips the top of the plate with it leading to your prints have a large dent in them. Thankfully, plate beds are inexpensive and easy to replace, but you'll still want to manually find your sweet spot and monitor your prints during the first layer to make sure that it's properly sticking on and isn't dug into plate.
-The Ugly-
+General accessories, software support, and community is still very limited.
While I still think this is the perfect printer to tiptoe into the more advanced aspects of 3D printing, the V3 is an outlier in many ways to the design of the V1 and V2, so when something does go wrong or you're using programs/slicers for 3D printing, you'll find yourself having to manually create profiles or troubleshoot issues. So yeah, a lot of the dirty work is taken care of, but when something does go wrong, you'll probably have to do a little more sleuthing compared to other popular printers.
+While I'm still impressed by how quiet the printer is, it does get noticeably creaky at max speed when the printer head moves along the X axis. 170 m/s seems to be the sweet spot for me where it stays relatively quiet at higher speeds. Maybe there's an adjustment I can make or the belt needs to be lubricated, but this is one of those cases where I can't find information regarding this specific printer and don't want to try making adjustments that could throw it off and cause even more issues.
All in all, I'm very satisfied with my experience using this and I think we've finally reached a point where decent 3D printers are accessible in cost and capability. The issues with the Z-offset are definitely frustrating at times and you're still going to have to put in a lot of effort in learning how to optimize your 3D prints especially when precision is needed, but it's a great"plug n play" experience.
The great thing about Ender 3 printers is that they're extremely DIY friendly, so I'm optimistic that I can continue using this for years down the line especially once parts are made specifically for this model.
