3.0 out of 5 starsTERRIBLE HUMAN-PROOF CAP!!!!!
Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2024
I'm mixed on my review since, on the one hand, the vinegar itself does the job I bought it for-cleaning and cooking and for that I give it a 5. HOWEVER, I DO take issue with the bottle cap which is why the overall rating is a 3. If you can't even OPEN the product, it's almost worthless. It took me about 7 MINUTES of UNSUCCESSFULLY twisting, using a paper towel, rubber jar opener and than finally having to resort to using a STEAK KNIFE to cut through the CHILD, ADULT, and HUMAN PROOF CAP!!! I would like to believe this instance was just a fluke, but BOTH caps of BOTH bottles were equally intractable, rendering the product almost USELESS. I even asked my daughter who has very strong hands to remove the caps, and she failed. You can see from the photos the marks of the knife along the top. (I had originally tried to cut along the sides of the cap, but that didn't accomplish anything) I even tried using a wrench which also failed. I have bought and opened TONS of other products with caps but have NEVER come across one like this and I consider myself pretty strong. If I had known it would be this nearly impossible to open up the bottles, I wouldn't NEVER bought this product, ESPECIALLY since it's NON-REFUNDABLE which I also didn't realize till after the fact. The irony is that on both bottle caps there is a sticker advertising another product that helps open up the bottles-HAHAHA!! My question is: was that company in cahoots with Heinz?!!! HAHAHA- My advice is DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT if you don't want to rub your hands RAW trying to open it, if you're elderly, or all the above. Utterly ridiculous and unacceptable packaging. If this is representative of ALL their bottled vinegar or other products, they need to redesign them!
