1.0 out of 5 stars2 Faulty units in 3 months, Coincidence?
Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2019
I purchased this in the fall to replace my wife's Alta HR that gave up the ghost after about 2 years of use. Not bad for the price we paid, but I saw a deal on this as a replacement, and jumped at the opportunity.
First one delivered as expected, paired up easily enough, and worked great for about a month. Then the battery life severely decreased...like from full charge to depleted in less than 16 hours. This happened for 2 days before the screen gave us a bunch of vertical colored lines (think Netflix intro screen that doesn't move), then wouldn't respond. Warranty replacement without issue (save for a week without a watch) and we were back in business.
This one had no issues with the battery and 2 months into use, we considered it a done deal. Wife was happy to be able to read her texts on her wrist, really liked the sleep tracking, and this time avoided downloading any funky watch faces (to possibly avoid any software issues that may have caused her first one to fail). Then, while at work, her wrist was continuously buzzing, "Stopwatch started!" It would read, and start counting up. Over and over. Then the dreaded Netflix intro screen, and <poof>, no response. DOW (Dead on wrist). We both work out regularly, so we put these things through the ringer (heavy sweat almost daily, but no swimming or showers), and my Versa 2 has had no issues 2 months in, but here we are about to request a 3rd replacement for this model in 3 months.
I'm going to request the Versa 2 as a replacement for this model, it's just not up to par...the build quality must be sacrificed for the price point. I would avoid this model if you're looking for a cheaper end smartwatch.
