Same old Ubisoft

I captured every base and got every weapon without completing campaign. It's Ubisoft being lazy. Looks amazing but nothing new in AI or mission types. Feels like a cash grab.

Did you enjoy the original Far Cry? No, not the weird original Xbox port. I am talking about the original PC exclusive Far Cry. Did you enjoy Far Cry 3? Well if you did, then this game is for you! I seriously can not get enough of it.

The graphics on the Series X are stellar and look very next gen 90% of the time. 3% of the time you may even say life like when looking at the country side in the right lighting. The other 7% percent are just OK but this is mostly at times when the lighting would be very hard to pull off in certain areas. Mostly indoor scenes.

The gameplay feels like everything Far Cry was meant to be. A stealth/action shooter set in an open, tropical landscape. Unlike Far Cry 4 and 5, this game properly motivates you to complete all of its tasks, mostly because everything feels very scarce in a way not felt in previous games and there are just TONS of items are weapons to unlock by doing so. This was my issue with the 2 previous games. Far Cry 4 it motivated you by making you climb bell towers to unlock items. This gets very old after awhile. Far Cry 5 you earned money by completing missions which in turn could by you better weapons but that was the only motivation. Just complete missions for $$$ to get weapons. So I ended up with a map full of side quests with ZERO motive to do. Not to mentions some of them were just not interesting at all.

It may seem overwhelming but once you start playing and getting a foothold in an area with outposts and checkpoints the other task become pretty easy as you will be able to upgrade your weapons and can air drop onto you targets for a stealthy attack.

I can't speak to much to the story as I am not completely done with the game yet but so far it is intriguing and keep me coming back; however there are some cut scenes I just straight up skip because you can tell it is not important. But there are some that really do a good job of capturing the mood and making me feel something for the characters.

All in all this is a great game! It's shame people want to give it a bad review just because it is more of the same but I don't think that it's necessarily a bad thing. Back in 2004 when the original Far Cry was released. There was a formula created that has since evolved but there was a feeling that was present in that game. A feeling of snooping around in the jungle being a badass that is one step ahead of his opponents patrolling a base. People that enjoyed that formula will like this game.

It’s a good game, with a good amount of stuff to do. It misses the mark on some things. With some tasks being redundant and a few quirky parts of the game that should’ve been hammered out before hand (no daytime shifting, so it’s dark for a long time). There are amazing missions and the amigos(sidekicks) are well done and enjoyable

Thoroughly enjoyable and well-polished Far Cry series entry. I had a lot of fun. Fraphics and art are top notch.. The setting is huge and well-realized. The core game mechanics are sharply tuned and as fun as always. I did prefer FC5's Montana setting and fundie Xtian antagonists and story, but Giancarlo Esposito is predictably excellent as the ruthless dictator in this new one. It's just that the character isn't that interesting when compared to previous FC big baddies. I also don't like that all perks are tied to clothing or guns. You don't get to develop your character, just their clothes and arsenal.
Small gripes and preferences aside, this is a good game and lots of fun.

I had purchased this game code as a gift for my little bro a while back, after enjoying it on my PC myself for quite a while, I wanted him to also be able to have fun in it and create his own Farcry 6 memories on his Xbox. We both love the franchise and grew up playing all of them - this one, despite it being much different was definitely still coasting the rails with the Farcry name and I had so much fun playing it myself, my brother did as well!
