I have read some reviews that say you cannot clean it, but the black top of mine comes off very easily. Not sure if they had some that were made in error or made differently, but mine comes right off, so it's super easy to clean. Witha new filter in, it filters very fast and fills quickly. After a month or so, it started to filter much more slowly, but I just sit it on the counter and fill the top black part up and go back for a second time if I need to. Very easy. All the parts disconnect easily to clean out, which I have done a few times. I see no mold or anything like that. I have had no issues, and the 3 pack filters cost around $14 and seem to last quite a while. I changed my out, likely too early, just because the price of the refills is so low, and I wanted it to filter faster.
I used to not drink any water, but this makes for very cold, better-tasting water in my book, and I am definitely thankful for it. It holds a lot of water, the spout seems solid and strong, have seen no leaks at all so far, have filled it up and drank at least 20 or so full containers of it, so it seems to be long lasting so far after 2 months.
At first I was buying the 2.5 gallon jug from the supermarket. Of course when it ran out we all pointed fingers to who would pick up another one. It seemed like yucky tap water was an option more times than not.
Decided on this larger pitcher for the fridge as we have a large family and we go through water a lot.
I read the negative reviews and decided I have a 50/50 shot this would be defective. I have waited to write this review as I have now used this every day for the past 3 months.
Very easy to insert a new filter. Fills up slowly but not slow enough to be frustrated especially since once you give it a good fill to the top you don't have to until the next day. The spicket seems to be holding up well and no leaks as of yet. We are gentle with it and I haven't taken it apart for cleaning yet either.
The water tastes very good like PS if you know which one I'm referring to. That was our go-to brand. I can't tell the difference actually. Also upon researching the filters to replace inside I decided upon using the regular britta brand. They last 2 months. The one it came with lasted 2 months exactly. I bought the replacement filters as well in a 3 pack and it's still going strong as I have a few weeks left.
To fill, lift the lid, I used my faucet and pour into the well to the max fill line. Once the water gets filtered, I add more water until it's completely full. Off to the fridge it goes. I can't fill inside the fridge as we put it on the top shelf and can't open the lid.
We love this water. And I forgot to mention the water we add smells like bleach really bad. This filtered water has no taste or smell. Just tastes refreshingly clean.

Moving on, the dispenser came in a nicely packaged box, so no worrying about it being damaged. The lid has a matt finish, which I personally didn’t like. It easily gets fingerprint stains. Apart from that I really like the compact/ minimal design. You can remove the entire top reservoir to clean the dispenser separately. It fits in my refrigerator and doesn’t take excess space. The water spout, however, lines up right against the edge of the shelf in my refrigerator. So everytime I use the dispenser, I have to slightly raise the spout so that the water doesn’t touch the shelf edge.
It comes with 1 packaged filter which needs to be set up. I just put mine under cold tap water for 15 seconds (as per the instruction manual) after removing the package. Setting up the filter is super easy as it has one big ridge that fits like a jigsaw puzzle with the dispenser. The packaging said that the filter may be wet (just how they seal it in the machines) while first which wasn’t the case here. I did discard the first three batch of filtered water to avoid any carbon dusts.
ALSO, it filters super quick. It took around 5 minutes only.
