The do reduce flare ups but after one use the bottoms are falking off where they touch the grate. The hight temperature is causing these to fall apart. They may last for half a dozen uses but I expect them to disintegrate by then, MORE importantly, the flakes maybe sending brick dust up onty my food. It's like talcum powder.

My gas grill has metal flavor bars that have started to rust away and allows flareups to occur more often. I wanted to try using these before getting new metal bars that would eventually do the same thing in time. These ceramic bricks do work well at distributing the heat evenly and actually does reduce the number of flareups. I love that these are ceramic and shouldn’t break down due to heat.

This product was exactly as described. While not intended for a fire Magic Custom 1 BBQ, the square shape fit my grill just fine. While the Heat plate do degrade over time, these bricks help retain the heat and actually runs my BBQ a slight bit hotter.

Seem to be good so far, will be interested to see how long these last.
