Ultralight Compact Camping Chair

The Helinox Chair Zero is the lightest, most compact camp chair from Helinox. It weighs just 1.1 pounds and packs smaller than a water bottle for easy transport in a backpack or bag. The chair frame is constructed from DAC aluminum alloy, and can hold up to 265 pounds. The chair seat and carrying sack are made from durable, lightweight, UV-resistant ripstop polyester. Setup is fast and easy, thanks to a single internal bungee cord that self-assembles the poles.

Comfy but durability? Time will tell...
Overall I like the chair. Watched a few videos on it before purchasing. Got it to take along when section hiking the Appalachian Trail. I'm 6' and weight 185 lbs. Went camping for one night this past weekend and brought it along. Sat in it during the evening and the next morning as I enjoyed some coffee and a cigar. Very comfy and pretty stable as I cooked on my stove. Had some light rain when arriving and overnight. The legs of it didn't sink into the ground. Wasn't muddy though considering the rain. However, per the pic one of the molds for the end of the leg has cracked which is disappointing. Hence the 4 stars. Helinox does sell some ball attachments. Not sure on that yet, don't want to add 8 more ounces to my pack weight or pay an extra $45.

I’m giving this chair five stars. I had read about it, so I knew what I was getting. It’s so lightweight that it doesn’t feel super sturdy, and being small the legs are close together, so it’s a little tippy if you aren’t careful. This chair is super light! I brought it with me to a music festival in Costa Rica and just added a carabiner to clip it to my bag. It was kinda big flopping at my side but is light and easy to set up. I think I'll use this for a variety of activities and camping. I'd recommend it!

This is a great lightweight camping chair- for a smaller person. My husband is 6'1", 220; and does not like to use it- says it feels too small. But for me (125#) works great. Did find it very difficult to put together for the first time, but after a few uses fabric stretches to fit on the support poles much more easily.

I bought the lightest chair I could find for backpacking and it fills the need! Backpacking with a chair is a bit over the top IMO, but I'm older now and have some back issues. After seeing others out in the wilderness with a chair, I just had to get one. I skimp on other areas in exchange for a chair. That said, to shave off weight, they had to exchange sturdiness and comfort which makes sense. You need to be careful so as not to tip over as the legs are pretty close together and I would give it 7/10 for comfort. But the only way to fix both these is to beef it up, thus adding weight. So if you looking for a super light camp chair to backpack that is far more comfortable than sitting on a rock or log, then this is for you. If you are car camping, I'd get a heavier one that is more stable and comfortable. I took this to Havasupai and it worked well. I will plan on taking it on more backpacking trips. It also is good if you want a super small/light chair to stuff in your car or store somewhere just in case, or if you are tight on space and want to pack a chair at the next outdoor event just in case. I'll give it 5-stars for the weight, but just know what you are trading (weight for stability and some comfort). Probably the most comfortable chair for it's weight though. Can't really compare this with heavier chairs, not apples-to-apples or fair to the manufacturer as it wasn't designed for car camping IMO. I'm pulling out my Tommy Bahama for car camping or concerts...

Super lightweight camp chair designed for backpacking. In my younger days we used to find a stump or rock to sit on when we stopped for the night and made camp. But, after my nephew brought one of these on a recent backpacking trip, I could see the appeal and bought one myself! Is it as light as a feather, no, but it is very light. Is it the most comfortable camp chair ever, no, but it's so much more comfortable than a stump or rock! Pricey, well yes, but the first time you use it at the end of a day's hiking in the backcountry with a full pack and you'll find it well worth it. Seems to be well made out of durable material, time will tell, but it looks and feels like quality construction.

This chair has made its way as a necessity into my day and overnight packs. No more hard ground, cold rocks or wet logs to sit on. My only complaint is that it does sink into soft ground easily. I'm ready to purchase the ground cover add-on to help with that. So.. maybe a future idea for the company would be to incorporate this must-have ground cover with the carrying pouch into one. Just a thought. That would be awesome.

It really is the lightest chair I’ve had, strong Dac poles.

I’m large but not over heavy, one thing I had problems with, if you don’t sit in this chair correctly you tend to fall back a bit, or start to. I found this quite disconcerting until I corrected my position, I’m sure this will be different for most people.
Extremely strong but light rip stop fabric, great reinforcing on the pole hoods.
Very very expensive for what it is but you can’t argue with quality, if I hadn’t been given some money as a gift to buy this, I would have gone for a cheaper one.
Recommend buying the brands sand/mud mat, this is also light and kind of essential.

Habe etwas gehadert, wegen dem hohen Preisunterschied zu anderen Anbietern, aber mittlerweile hat er sich schon mehr als bewährt. Ein absoluter Gamechanger. Perfekte Höhe, um sich was zu kochen und super bequem zum chillen, ob am Lagerfeuer oder am See. Und weil so klein und leicht, ist er halt immer dabei (vielleicht im Gegensatz zu den schwereren Modellen) und weil so schnell aufgebaut, nutzt man ihn sehr oft. Lediglich bei sandigen oder erdigen Untergründen versinken die Beine schon schnell mal im Boden, aber das habe ich bisher immer einfach durch neues Umsetzen beheben können. Vielleicht ist aber auch irgendwann mal das Ground Sheet dran, was dieses Problem ja lösen soll. Dafür war ich bisher zu geizig, denn ich sitze selten stundenlang in dem Stuhl, wie Angler oder Jäger. Für die lohnt sich dann vielleicht auch eher die höhere Variante von Helinox.
