John Vincent (Author) John is co-founder of Leon, which now has more than 55 restaurants (including restaurants in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Oslo and Washington DC). He wrote LEON Naturally Fast Food with Henry Dimbleby, LEON Family & Friends with Kay Plunkett-Hogge, LEON Happy Salads and LEON Fast & Free with Jane Baxter and LEON Happy Soups with Rebecca Seal. He believes food has the power to delight, invigorate and bring people together. He thinks that our relationship with food should be positive and joyous and that we need to listen more carefully to our gut, eat more good fats, less sugar. And a whole lot more plants.
Rebecca Seal (Author) Rebecca has written about food and drink for the Financial Times, Evening Standard, the Observer, the Guardian, Red and The Sunday Times. Her cookbooks include Istanbul: Recipes from the heart of Turkey and Lisbon: Recipes from the heart of Portugal, as well as LEON Happy Soups and LEON Happy One-pot, both of which she co-authored with John Vincent. She is one of the food and drink experts on Channel 4's Sunday Brunch. She believes that with the right skills, and just a bit of knowledge, everyone can eat well and hopes that her writing goes a little way towards helping that happen. She lives in London with her husband and two small daughters.
Chantal Symons (Author) Chantal's passion for cooking was ignited when, as a teenager, she was diagnosed as allergic to dairy, eggs and wheat. She believes everyone should take joy and satisfaction from food and so she specializes in freefrom cooking. Chantal has worked as a personal chef, caterer, restaurateur and in food product development. She is also a champion barbecuer, and has won several competitions including Jamie Oliver's 'Big Feastival'.

This book arrived dirty and beat up. Greatly disappointed, as I have and love the other LEON cookbooks. Re the content, which I perused before returning this, I prefer the LEON Fast and Free book because it has more gluten-free recipes. Also, for low-FODMAPS folks, this book (like any vegan cookbook) might be hard to use, since it relies heavily on tofu and legumes.

For the most part, the recipes in this book are great. But by no measure are these "fast" vegan recipes. There are a few pasta recipes at 25 minutes, one couscous at 15. Here are the time-to-eat for the first recipes in the "fast food" section: 35 minutes (+overnight), 50 minutes, 50 minutes, 1.5 hours, 50 minutes. Etc. Etc.

Throughout my life I’ve regularly bought cookbooks and I cook a couple of recipes from them and they sit on the side. This cook book has been the opposite. There are few recipes we haven’t made since owning the cook book for 5 months. And every recipe without exception has been delicious. I am not a full vegan as I do eat fish but i can’t eat eggs or dairy as both give me instant migraines so I needed a vegan cookbook to help me. Every recipe is well laid out, ingredients in order, and clear instructions and the meal you cook just looks like the pictures. I’d like to tell you which recipes to try but there are too many too recommend but the chocolate cake is amazing and so easy and how I lived without ackee on sour dough toast I have no idea. So this book is comparable to the best music album you will ever buy where you will listen and love every song. You will want to try all the recipes and you will never be disappointed and your whole family, vegan or otherwise, will love every dish you make and all ask for the cook book Details before they leave.

This is a proper old-style cookbook. Reeeally good quality material. So so many recipes and great ideas. So many ingredients I had never heard off before, I'm so intrigued. Honestly, if there is another cookbook out there for plant-based eaters that tops this, I'd be surprised. Buy it! if you're looking for a complete book, this has everything! It would make a great gift also!.

Wow. I have amassed a few vegan cookbooks over the years but this is by far the best. This is a very carefully considered selection of seriously great recipes. In typical Leon style, the photography and editorial style jump off the pages at you, willing you to dive in further and get stuck right in, but it's got real substance too. Some recipes reference vegan blogs and restaurants so you can tell the team behind this book have really taken the time to look around at the latest innovations in vegan culinary techniques. It's thoughtful, generous (some of the pages have 2-3 recipes on them), fresh and exciting. I still eat meat (trying to phase into first being a vegetarian) but looking through this I can see myself going full blown vegan pretty quickly! I think this book is a triumph.
