Notifications
Receive notifications when your cat enters or leaves the house. Keep track of their movements and have peace of mind while you’re at work, on holiday or while you’re out late.
Lock and Unlock
Using the Sure Petcare app you can lock or unlock the door remotely, ideal if you've forgotten to lock the door before a vet appointment or if there's a thunderstorm on the way and you need to keep your cat inside. You can also adjust the curfew time from anywhere and create a schedule for when your cats are allowed outside.

Insights allow you to gain a greater understanding of your cat, with graphs containing information on how often they are coming and going and how long they have spent outside. Monitoring your cat’s activity means you can notice changes in behaviour which could be a sign of illness or stress.
Intruder Alerts
If you have noticed that your cat isn’t leaving the house as much or their behaviour has changed, intruder alerts let you see when neighbourhood animals fail to enter your home; new cats on the block could be an indication of your cat’s change in behaviour.

Product Description
The most advanced Cat Door ever. The SureFlap DualScan Microchip Cat Door has a double antenna, which reads a cat’s microchip when it comes into and goes out of the house. This allows you to restrict certain cats to indoor-only, whilst allowing other cats access to the outdoors. If your cat is not microchipped, the DualScan cat door can also be used with a SureFlap RFID Collar Tag. The DualScan cat door can store up to 32 cats and it is compatible with 9, 10 and 15 digit microchips (except those staring with 000, 010 or 020). A SureFlap Cat Door Mounting Adaptor is required for glass installations and one or more SureFlap Cat Door Tunnel Extenders may be required for wall installations. The DualScan cat door is battery powered using 4 AA batteries which last up to a year with normal use. When the batteries start to run low, an indicator light will flash. The DualScan cat door has a 4-way manual lock to enable locking to any combination of in/out and a central magnet on the door prevents it from flapping in the wind. The dimensions of the flap are 5 5/8" (W) x 4 3/4" (H). This is the smallest area your cat will have to pass through. Connect the Hub to a spare port on your home router. The Hub acts as the link between the cat door and the internet.
What's in the bundle box? Microchip Cat Door Connect, Hub, manual, four installation screws.

No issues with setup or use though room for improvement on alerts - see below:
- Set up, install and cat training was straightforward but you do need to follow sequence and methods provided in instructions and youtube videos e.g. register cat to cat flap before installation.
- We have a single cat, Theo, and entry controls and curfew feature have been very useful to enable and control his comings and goings.
- Alerts are fun and engaging if you configure your pet and cat flap names appropriately:-
'Theodorius L. Gato' has entered by the 'Intergalactic Portal' !
...but I can imagine that will get old after a bit and the miaow sound from the alert is not removable which is not great for work. Probably more useful to have exception alerts based on e.g. excessive failed entrance or exits, cat not having been out or not having come back for some configurable time threshold, low battery level as these would all be good triggers for human check up.
Pros: Love the ability to monitor all our cat's door usage through the iPhone app and also control the unit remotely. I get cute "meow" alerts whenever one of our cats uses the door.
I like the feasibility to either use the app or manually lock/unlock the door
Cons: Setting up the app initially can be a little tricky, I wish the original product came with a stronger flap.
Tip: Do not use regular Energizer or Duracell AA batteries. get the Ultimate Lithium one as they seem to hold the charge better.
Update: 12/25/19 : The battery issue still seems to persist but not as bad as the first unit. Second unit gave us around 1 1/2 to 2 months of battery life compared to 2 weeks. The flap’s latch stopped working and our cats were no longer able to come in. As a temporary workaround, I put a tape so our cats could open the door from outside but this also means any small animal could come in. The SureFlap customer support sent us a replacement latch but that did not help. They ended up sending a new unit ( 3rd time) which I installed today. Will post an update in few weeks on how this 3rd unit is working. That said, I am very reluctant to recommend this product to anyone who intend to use it during vacation as I would freak out if my pets cannot come in. This is a great product and I am hoping that the manufacturer takes all the issues into consideration and improves the product.
I've had this cat/pet door for a few months now and my cat got along with using it just fine, using tape to keep it open the first couple days did the trick. The door has been working fine and seemingly reporting the cat going in and out. Though sometimes not reporting the correct inside/outside, I believe this is when the cat goes through the senors too fast?
It seemed to be fine, while I was around town I was getting notifications. I decided to trust this product. I was wrong. Now the problem... I put in new batteries before I left, I went out of town for about 10 day, the app was only reporting the cat go in/out once a day! Even on a normal day when I'm not around (at all) the cat goes in/out about 7 times. After the fourth day it stopped reporting the cats movements. At this point I believe the cat got trapped outside! Without food! Battery life still good, the door was still being detected by the wifi. A day or two went by and I got a notification from the power company that my power went out briefly at night then door stopped responding to the wifi! My cat luckily was stealing food from my dogs(that were being taken care of in my back yard) and likely from neighbors cat food dishes.
I get home and yep the cat door isnt working, the cat is outback hanging around my dogs. There's a high pitch noise coming from the cat door. No idea why it stopped working.
I feel so bad for my cat(<1 year old). I bought this expensive cat door and wall insert, cut a hole in my wall and now I cant even trust the dang thing on vacations.
Top reviews from other countries
I rescued my cat (here after known as Pippin/Pip) off the streets and took care of her babies when they came. She always wanted to be outside in the city but we couldn't trust that she wouldn't wander too far.
Now we live on a farm and Pip likes to be outside all day, then love to come in and relax on one of her numerous cat beds or soft blankets lol. We have our sure flap going from our porch into our shop where the shop cats live. There's food and water in there so I have no worries if the door ever malfunctions and she's outside or in the shop.
We are about to leave on a 2 week trip and I've been concerned about Pip and how she would fair inside for 2 weeks because no one could house sit for us. Now I don't have to worry. It took her a day to get used to it but now she's in an out like a breeze.
I highly recommend getting the hub with it as well! It sends you alerts when the cat comes in and out and tells out how much time they've been outside. You can also lock and unlock the door from the sure pet app which is nice, but I haven't actually used this feature yet. It's also nice to see trends in her in/out behavior, and you can also see how full the battery is on the door itself.
We've actually discovered that she prefers to be out at night instead of during the day.
I LOVE this product. It's given me so much peace of mind and our cat is way happier
The ONLY issue I had which is partially our own problem, is that the wall was so thick that we installed it in, that we had to come up with an alternative solution to join the two ends. This is not their problem, but we looked into buying the sure flap extenders/connectors and they were $30 per 2" which felt a bit excessive.

1. Severe heat leak which has messed with house energy consumption.
2. Wind noise on windy days. I can feel the wind even when sitting far from it.
3. Always incorrect state saying cat is out while cat just looked out and didn't even try to open the flap.
4. Flap doesn't close on a windy day and wind blows it open.
If you are thinking about buying something like this. Avoid this one.

- gestione remota dell’apertura e chiusura.

In general it has been a great success. All three quickly leant to use it. There were occasional instances of tailgating and battery failures, but nothing serious.
Set-up - easy, just put the cat close to the flap, the flap registers it chip pin no. and you are off. If you’re have several cats and DON’T KNOW their pin number enter the cat’s name immediately after letting the flap register it - otherwise you wont know which cat is which.
Monitoring is good, especially the ability to see the activity all the cats.
No problems with WiFi even though house has 2ft thick stone walls and flap is in the conservatory.
Cons:
Batteries - Rechargeable and Alkaline batteries don’t last very long. [They might do in a single cat household, but with three (often sitting on opposite sides of the flap deciding whether to use it, they run down fast. Lithium batteries give a decent period between replacement (c. 4 sets of 4/year). Cold nights can reduce the current from part-used batteries to the level where it locks open. This is winter in Yorkshire at 400ft; what the situation would be in Scotland or anywhere with really cold winters I don’t know.
Cat monitoring - initially the biometrics often recorded cats being in when they were out and visa-versa. (probably because a cat would stick its head part through the flap and then change its mind). Some time back (8 months?) this changed and it rarely disagrees with reality.
The ability to see the activity of all cats on a single list is a great addition. What would improve this would be an easy method to download the data so it could be analysed.
Evil Genius Cats - the flap only recognises a cat is close to the flap; it doesn’t distinguish between a it being inside or out and releases the latch that prevents other cats entering. Rosie, the butter wouldn’t melt on my paws kitten, discovered she could open the cat flap by getting close and hooking it towards her and ducking under it. [I didn’t realise this until I used a trail camera to investigate mammal activity near the house and saw her leaving during curfew.
Possible improvements:
Warning via text or email when the batteries are getting low and/or the option to have an external power source. [OK, I could easily go over to rechargeable batteries and wire up my own supply, but others might not know how.
Different curfews for different cats - Cleo, the mother demands a late evening walk and hunts you down to open the door for her. She’s streetwise, having lived for several months on the city streets, her kittens are still learning about the great outdoors.
The ability to download the entire record set, either from the software or by email.
Some of the webpages don’t include the name of the cat the data refers to, you could add a picture, but the name would be better.
Proof against Evil Genius Felines breaking curfew - now thats a real challenge!
