Stanley Tucci’s association with wonderful foods began for fans with the movie Big Night and resonated in his role as Julia Child’s husband in Julie & Julia. But well before these films, he was enjoying innovative homemade Italian meals throughout his childhood, when family and food were nearly inseparable and cooking was always a familial venture.
Now, in a completely new, family-focused cookbook, Tucci captivates food lovers’ imaginations with recipes from his traditional Italian roots as well as those of his British wife, Felicity Blunt, tied together with a modern American ribbon. The time-tested recipes include pasta alla bottarga, mushroom-stuffed trout, pork chops with onions and mustard sauce, barbeque chicken wings, and much, much more! Nothing will make you happier to spend time with family than the aroma of a hearty Italian dish sizzling on the stovetop.
Featuring 100 luscious new full-color photographs, The Tucci Table captures the true joys of family cooking. Buon apetito!

“During Felicity’s first summer in New York, we planted a vegetable garden together. We made almost daily runs to the nursery to buy topsoil, compost, and manure to enrich the soil. Too much manure, it turned out, because everything tasted like sh*t. The only vegetables that flourished were the tomatoes. Having achieved the proper balance, our garden in London has successfully yielded zucchini, spring onions, runner beans, and, of course, tomatoes. We are still working on the lettuce.”

About the authors
Stanley Tucci is an actor, writer, director, and producer. He has directed five films and appeared in over seventy films, countless television shows, and a dozen plays on and off Broadway. He has been nominated for an Academy Award, a Tony, and a spoken word Grammy; is a winner of two Golden Globes and two Emmys; and has received numerous other critical and professional awards and accolades.
A lover of all things culinary Stanley wrote and directed Big Night, the critically acclaimed movie about two brothers running a failing restaurant, starred in Julie and Julia and is the host of Emmy nominated Searching for Italy. He is also pretty adept with a cocktail shaker.
He is the author of Taste: My Life Through Food and two cookbooks, The Tucci Table and The Tucci Cookbook.
Kay Plunkett-Hogge is an acclaimed writer and cookery teacher.
Her books include Baan: Recipes And Stories From My Thai Home (Pavilion, 2019), The Art Of The Party (Mitchell Beazley, 2018), Aperitivo: Drinks And Snacks For The Dolce Vita (Mitchell Beazley, 2017), Adventures Of A Terribly Greedy Girl (Mitchell Beazley, 2017), A Sherry And A Little Plate Of Tapas (Mitchell Beazley, 2016), Heat: Cooking With Chillies (Quercus, 2016) and Make Mine A Martini (Mitchell Beazley, 2014).

Kay has co-authored a further six books, working with the award-winning chef Bryn Williams on his two books Bryn’s Kitchen and For The Love Of Veg, Academy Award nominated actor Stanley Tucci on his second cookbook The Tucci Table, and with the American pizza guru Chris Bianco. She also co-wrote Leon: Family and Friends with John Vincent and Cook Yourself Thin: Quick and Easy.
Born and brought up in 1970s Bangkok, Kay spent her childhood between two kitchens — inside for Western food, outside for Thai — before forging an international career in the film and fashion industries. It is an experience which has given her an in-depth knowledge of cuisines from all over the world.
Kay began her food career when she set up a bespoke location catering service for fashion shoots. Since then, she has worked as a food consultant for a variety of restaurants and bars, including Leon, The Formosa Café, Isola del Sole, Ma Goa, The Siam Hotel, Bangkok and The Luang Prabang Motorcycle Club.
Her cult book, Make Mine A Martini, was the Financial Times’s pick for drinks book of the year, and led to her induction into the prestigious Gin Guild (in the words of Heston Blumenthal: “She shakes a damn fine cocktail.”).
She has written regularly on cocktails for The Daily Telegraph and Sainsbury’s Magazine, has contributed to The Guardian, FT Weekend, Jamie Magazine and Olive Magazine, and has published recipes in The Times, The Independent, Hello and Borough Market’s Market Life magazine.
She lives in Thailand with her husband and two dogs.

Each offering is definitely moorish , as they say in the UK!
I heartily agree with the preceding reviews about the book; the beautiful photos, family stories, and the wonderful selection of Italian and British recipes.
I bought the book after watching Mr. Tucci on the Dr. Oz show. He was talking about this latest cook book and also about the fact that he has become sensitive to wheat. On the show, Dr. Oz had organized a panel of some audience members who were invited to try Mr. Tucci's Spaghetti Bolognese recipe atop wheat free pasta. They looked a hard core group of confirmed wheat pasta eaters and I was wondering if the wheat free pasta would hold up to their trial. They gobbled it up like candy! So, I was intrigued, as most wheat free products that I have tried are not tasty at all!
After ordering the book it turned out that the book is not about being wheat sensitive, but is a celebration of food, in particular Italian and British foods. I was pleasantly surprised as I'm an Amercian woman married to a British man and we live in the UK. I have always wanted to learn how to cook British "staples" such as Sausage Rolls, Yorkshire Pudding, and crispy Roast Potatoes. Well now I can!. The first recipe I tried was the Sausage Roll recipe and it was brilliant! Great taste and easy to make. My husband and I made the Spaghetti Bolognese sauce last night and it was amazing. That sauce will become a staple in our food arsenal.
OK, back to the main point about the wheat free conundrum......The Tucci's have a very good "what to buy" section in the book with brand names of items that they use in their recipes, There is a brand of wheat free pasta that they use and I am on the lookout for it here in the UK. I am sure that this product will be great, once I find it, and will compliment the fabulous recipes in the book.
This brings me to the "Tiny, I wish they had included" section:
Conversion Table of Weights and Measures: US to UK measures: 1 US cup = how many grams of butter, for example. I know, one can always look it up, and I did, but it would've been nice to have it in right there in the book.
Table of Contents: It took me a long time to find it, and of course it is located near the front of the book, but it's rather hidden at the top left-hand page that has "The Tucci Table" spelled in flour. A great photo, but it would have been better, in my opinion, if the Table of Contents had been in a larger font, running down the left hand side of that page.
Where To Buy: There is a great section of products that the Tucci's use, like the wheat free pasta, It would be nice to know where to find them in the US and UK. I've searched for the pasta and found that it can be purchased from Waitrose in the UK, but they don't carry it at every Waitrose store.....So perhaps a US and UK online source?
My suggestions above are in no way to be thought of as a deterrent to purchasing the Tucci Table. Do yourself a favor and get this book! You will have a blast making the recipes on your own or with a loved one, or two, or three.....You won't regret it, promise!
