Gets rid of waves, not curls
This product is nice, but it has limitations. Does it work? Yes. Is it worth the time to use it? That depends on how you want your finished look.To start, the packaging of this product is gorgeous and I was so excited to open it. The color scheme is in the typical fun and bright colors that Bed Head products are known for. Unfortunately, when I went to open the packaging I ran into some trouble. This is not frustration-free packaging. It was awful trying to get the brush out of the plastic and cardboard. It took me over five minutes. Anyone with low dexterity or trouble with hand or arm movement, this may require assistance to open.As far as functionality, this product does what it says it will do, it straightens hair. Does it do a fabulous job? Meh. I have naturally wavy hair that takes heat styling really well. Straightening my hair with a standard straightener usually takes me 20-25 minutes. At the end of that time, I have perfectly straight hair. This brush straightened my hair in around 15 minutes, and with more practice, I could do it in less time. But it wasn't perfect, my hair looked like someone with naturally straight hair, not someone who spent time straightening their hair. If that's the look you're going for, this product might be a perfect fit for you. As someone who likes my hair to look perfect if I'm taking the time to straighten it, this wasn't exactly the look I was shooting for.The product is super quick to heat up and with the ionic technology it only caused minimal static in my hair, which is saying something as I'm in an extremely dry climate. Probably one of the best features is the cord. I didn't notice it at all when I was styling my hair. That's all I ask of a cord, stay out of the way and swivel as needed so it never becomes a problem.A few tips for using this product, make sure you have clean hair when you use it, it's not easy to clean off if you coat it in product or natural hair oils. Additionally, make sure you thoroughly brush your hair before you use this, the last thing you want is this brush getting hung up on a snag in your hair and causing a burn. Finally, I found that this took less heat than I was expecting, so start a little lower than you think.One final note is that this is designed to straighten hair after sleeping on it, it can smooth out waves, not so much actual curls. If you have naturally curly hair or a tight perm, this probably won't give you the smooth and straight hair you want.Overall, I would recommend this to those with wavy hair who want straighter hair without a lot of time or effort. I wouldn't recommend this to those with curly hair or to those who want perfectly straight hair. For those with realistic expectations about what this can do, this is cute option at a reasonable price.
