How long will the UPS power my systems after the power goes out?

Run times vary based on the power required by connected devices. This system is estimated to run for 12 minutes at half load, 2 minutes for a full load.

Do all of the outlets have battery backup and surge protection?

No, not all of the outlets have battery backup power. The BRG1500AVRLCD has six battery backup and surge protected outlets and six surge protected outlets.

Can the BRG1500AVRLCD be monitored?

Yes, the BRG1500AVRLCD comes with a free download of PowerPanel Personal that provides a user-friendly dashboard interface for controlling and monitoring the UPS.

Can this unit run a sump pump, laser printer, or other larger office equipment?

We do not recommend using the BRG1500AVRLCD to power sump pumps, laser printers, paper shredders, space heaters or other large electrical devices. The power demands of these devices may overload the unit and cause damage.

How do I mute the alarms?

To turn the alarm off, press the button for 2 seconds. While muted, there will be no audible notification when the UPS reaches a lower battery state. Repeat steps to enable alarm.

Amazon box beat up, but inside was perfect original packaging
Couldn’t find the right banana for scale, so I used a standard 8.5 x 11” piece of paper to give an idea of size.It does weigh about 30 pounds - as expected from the batteries. I believe the instructions mentioned there were two of them, so you have two to replace when the time comes. I haven’t priced them yet, but it looks like the 1500 and 1350 both use CyberPower / RB1290X2.Someone in a previous review mentioned you needed to buy a printer USB cable, but mine was packed with one. It does look like a cheap 3-foot model so you might want to get a longer one.I will mention the Amazon box was in shambles, but the original box (inside of amazon box) was in perfect condition. I just got it and it looks great, but haven’t tested it yet so cannot comment on the quality. If there are any unforeseen issues or gotchas, I will edit my post.

Using this battery backup to protect my computer from power outages and surges.. Power's gone out a
few times, and this gives me time to save and shut down safely. I like that it stays cool -- doesn't waste
much power while running in standby. Recently the front panel on/off button LED light went dark.
Power protection still fine, but I called to ask. Tech Support answered right away, said they'd had a few
LED failures. They sent me a new front panel, easy to install. There isn't an obvious self-test button, but
self-test can be done from the front panel with a few button pushes. I've also tested by turning off the
circuit breaker for the outlet where the UPS is plugged in. By the way, it's best not to test by unplugging
the UPS from the wall outlet. That would also unplug the (round, slightly longer) safety ground pin of
the plug, which can cause trouble if you have cables like USB, internet or video connecting other
equipment which is still plugged in to a live outlet. Besides, it's easier than moving furniture to reach
    the plug.

Great UPS for the money. I have had a chance to test this out a few times with some powerful wind storms in WA this year and this has worked flawlessly. This included complete power outages, brown outs and power spikes.

Personal edition of the software is decent for most users and easy to set up\monitor. However if you are looking for more advanced options I would recommend the business version that they have available for a free download. This gives you much greater control. Specifically was looking for an option to shut down an attached computer automatically while leaving the UPS online for back up power of cable modem and wireless gateway. This is not possible with the persona version of the software but is possible with the business edition (again available for free from the CyberPower website).

I did contact customer service to find out how to do what I am describing above and I must say they were excellent. Representative clearly understood what I was asking for, asked appropriate questions to ensure he had all the details and gave me detailed instructions on how to set up the software exactly how I wanted. I was very impressed with their support both for them actually answering\solving my question and to the speed in which they were able to respond (I submitted my support request via email on their website).

Since 2009, I have purchased 4 Cyberpower UPS. The units themselves all work flawlessly. I still have the one I purchased in 2009 in use. The only problems I have encountered are the batteries. This is normal. Usually a 5 to 6 year lifespan. However the batteries in this unit failed after around 3 years. It plainly states the unit and batteries are warranted for 5 years. I contacted Cyberpower. They referred me back to Amazon. I contacted Amazon and they said they could replace the unit within 2 years of original purchase. I didn't expect Amazon to warrant this. However Amazon did contact Cyberpower with my phone number to contact me. Within 5 minutes I did get the call. (Impressed) Cyberpower agreed to send me a new set of batteries. After waiting a reasonable amount of time, they never did. I ordered a new set of batteries from Amazon, when they arrived, I installed them and the unit is working as it should. Bottom line, Cyberpower UPS units are top of the line. Customer service is NOT. 5 stars to Amazon for helping me with the issue, 0 stars to Cyberpower for their customer service.

This isn't a backup generator. It gives you time to shut things off correctly, not run them for hours. The idea is that when the power goes out you want to save your work, tell your teammates goodbye, and properly shut your computer down this provides the power to do so. That's exactly what this does. It even alerts you if you are in another room and don't notice the lights going out. This model is a good compromise between cost and battery size. You should be able to get all your devices (it has plenty of plugs) powered down safely and it isn't loud, hot, or too bulky. This is the perfect model for home use. Don't use it for purposes for which it was not designed and it will serve you well. Seriously, it isn't a backup generator; I'm looking at you person who called me at midnight to tell me it only powered the computer for an hour.

before i get to the actual product, i want to mention that amazon did a terrible job of packaging this 25lb product. the box had one piece of tape on it and was broke open on arrival. the manufacturer packaging however was not damaged and their packaging of the product is excellent. now to my initial impressions of the cyberpower brg1500avrlcd. setup is a breeze. make sure to plug the supplied usb cable from the brg1500 to your computer and go to the cyberpower website to download the monitoring software. the build quality is excellent for a product with all these features at this price point. although i have not yet killed power to the unit to test the duration of the extended run time after a power failure, the software is showing 74 minutes(based on the current load). my guess is that in reality i might get 15 to 20 minutes to finish what i am doing or just let the unit save my work and shut itself down. there are lots of connections for your equipment although the spacing of most of the outlets are too close together if you need to plug those large plug connectors from certain electronic devices. be aware that only 6 of the 12 connections support battery back up. the other 6 just support power filtering and regulation. the display is useful and easy to read even from a distance. for under $160usd this purchase is a no brainer if you need a ups/ power conditioner.

I like the features of this product. The onscreen display is great for viewing the status of the battery and power conditions without having to connect it to a computer with USB. I like that it has more plugs on the back than the previous model it replaces, though I could do without the coax cable connectors on the back which get in the way of some power adapters depending on how you plug them in. I don't really need surge protection on the coax cable, but that is a trivial complaint. I haven't had this product long enough to experience a power outage, but where I live I get several long ones per year. I'm using this product as backup power for a cable modem, wifi router, voip adapter and cell phone signal booster. I like to keep those running during long power outages and this product should give me over 3 hours of runtime (it has two internal batteries.) I've used CyberPower UPS products for years and find them very reliable. The batteries usually last 5 years which is typical for sealed lead acid batteries.

I have bought 1 pure sine wave, 800 VA unit from CyberPower 3 years ago. That has been awesome and saved my computer from rebooting countless time over the years.

Now that I have got a more serious workstation computer running 24/7, I was hoping to get another UPS with a bigger battery thus higher VA models are desired. The pure sine wave ones do have large battery option but that come with a relatively higher price.
The new simulated sine wave UPS (BRG series) comes in handy. I was sceptical when seeing people saying it works for active PFC enabled power supply (which all modern day computer uses), but wanted to give it a try.

It is now powering my server (~140W), a modem and a wireless router. I tested it 5-6 times by turning off the switch, and nothing was off and the computer runs like it didn't know the power was cut. Now I can have internet even my house is out of electricity, provided the cable still works.
The great thing is the battery can provide, as it displayed on screen, 110 mins of battery time for my current set up, allowing my server to run for another 2 hours without worrying a blackout.

I would definitely suggest this as a cheaper alternative to pure sine wave UPS, if that's not strictly needed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Estupendo UPS
