How long will the UPS power my systems after the power goes out?
Run times vary based on the power required by connected devices. This system is estimated to run for 12 minutes at half load, 2 minutes for a full load.
Do all of the outlets have battery backup and surge protection?
No, not all of the outlets have battery backup power. The BRG1500AVRLCD has six battery backup and surge protected outlets and six surge protected outlets.
Can the BRG1500AVRLCD be monitored?
Yes, the BRG1500AVRLCD comes with a free download of PowerPanel Personal that provides a user-friendly dashboard interface for controlling and monitoring the UPS.
Can this unit run a sump pump, laser printer, or other larger office equipment?
We do not recommend using the BRG1500AVRLCD to power sump pumps, laser printers, paper shredders, space heaters or other large electrical devices. The power demands of these devices may overload the unit and cause damage.
How do I mute the alarms?
To turn the alarm off, press the button for 2 seconds. While muted, there will be no audible notification when the UPS reaches a lower battery state. Repeat steps to enable alarm.

Product Description
A mini-tower UPS with line interactive topology, the CyberPower Intelligent LCD Series BRG1500AVRLCD provides battery backup (using simulated sine wave output) and surge protection for desktop computers, workstations, networking devices, and home entertainment systems. few times, and this gives me time to save and shut down safely. I like that it stays cool -- doesn't waste
much power while running in standby. Recently the front panel on/off button LED light went dark.
Power protection still fine, but I called to ask. Tech Support answered right away, said they'd had a few
LED failures. They sent me a new front panel, easy to install. There isn't an obvious self-test button, but
self-test can be done from the front panel with a few button pushes. I've also tested by turning off the
circuit breaker for the outlet where the UPS is plugged in. By the way, it's best not to test by unplugging
the UPS from the wall outlet. That would also unplug the (round, slightly longer) safety ground pin of
the plug, which can cause trouble if you have cables like USB, internet or video connecting other
equipment which is still plugged in to a live outlet. Besides, it's easier than moving furniture to reach
the plug.
Personal edition of the software is decent for most users and easy to set up\monitor. However if you are looking for more advanced options I would recommend the business version that they have available for a free download. This gives you much greater control. Specifically was looking for an option to shut down an attached computer automatically while leaving the UPS online for back up power of cable modem and wireless gateway. This is not possible with the persona version of the software but is possible with the business edition (again available for free from the CyberPower website).
I did contact customer service to find out how to do what I am describing above and I must say they were excellent. Representative clearly understood what I was asking for, asked appropriate questions to ensure he had all the details and gave me detailed instructions on how to set up the software exactly how I wanted. I was very impressed with their support both for them actually answering\solving my question and to the speed in which they were able to respond (I submitted my support request via email on their website).
This thing keeps on chugging, no problems. Good price.

Now that I have got a more serious workstation computer running 24/7, I was hoping to get another UPS with a bigger battery thus higher VA models are desired. The pure sine wave ones do have large battery option but that come with a relatively higher price.
The new simulated sine wave UPS (BRG series) comes in handy. I was sceptical when seeing people saying it works for active PFC enabled power supply (which all modern day computer uses), but wanted to give it a try.
It is now powering my server (~140W), a modem and a wireless router. I tested it 5-6 times by turning off the switch, and nothing was off and the computer runs like it didn't know the power was cut. Now I can have internet even my house is out of electricity, provided the cable still works.
The great thing is the battery can provide, as it displayed on screen, 110 mins of battery time for my current set up, allowing my server to run for another 2 hours without worrying a blackout.
I would definitely suggest this as a cheaper alternative to pure sine wave UPS, if that's not strictly needed.
