I debated long and hard about buying this for our dog. This is not an inexpensive item. I had it in my cart for months before finally deciding to buy it for our cross country trip in the motorhome. Since it was iffy if it would arrive in time, I had it shipped to our daughter's place along the way, so for 2 weeks we traveled without it.
Or dog is a rescue dog with significant separation anxiety., juvenile onset arthritis, and food sensitivities. She lives travelling in the motorhome, but is always on "alert", rarely fully relaxed. During those two weeks, when we were parked and she was taking a nap, her eyes would almost always pop often when a truck went by, or if we moved, and would stay open until she was sure everyone was ok. This would happen over and over, sometimes every few seconds.
We picked up the blanket. We were parked next to a busy road and she was laying on the couch, dozing off but on "alert" to every sound, constantly opening her eyes. I draped the blanket over her, then sat down on the opposite couch. At first she was surprised, but after a few moments she shifted to a more comfortable position, closed her eyes, and soon was keeping them closed through all the traffic sounds of trucks and cars going by with the windows wide open. She totally ignored the noise and went soundly to sleep.
I have never seen her so relaxed before, and it happened so quickly. This is really so amazing.

Helped us get our 70lb boxer to sleep in his own bed!

We were having trouble training our 70 lb. almost 2 yr old boxer, Whitley, to sleep in his own bed. This meant we were not getting a restful night of sleep. He would sneak into bed with us after we'd fall asleep. Since purchasing this blanket, he sleeps 95% of the time in his own bed! Sometimes he'll wake up and get out of bed to shake, but he just wants covered back up. If he does get into our bed, if we get up, he'll get excited and get right up to get back in his bed and get covered. Seriously worth the $90!! The machine washable cover is convenient. The weighted part ties into the corners of the cover, like a duvet. Note: He loves to be covered up, but a regular blanket does not keep him in his bed.

I purchased this blanket for my brother's dog. He is older and terrified of thunder and fireworks to the point that he runs and hides in the shower and just shakes all over. I thought this is worth trying since my weighted blanket is so amazing so maybe a dog would love one as well. Mack (the dog) LOVES his blanket soooo much! My brother said that when the severe storms rolled through last week, Mack was sound asleep under his blanket and never even budged. I waited a full month to review this item as I wanted to be sure he still uses and loves it....he does. This purchased was worth the money to give this sweet fur baby some comfort from the storms.
