Gordon Ramsay is a world-renowned chef who was awarded three Michelin stars for his Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London. As one of only four chefs in the UK to maintain three stars, Gordon was awarded an OBE in 2006 for services to the industry. Scottish by birth, Gordon Ramsay was brought up in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, and initially aspired to be a professional soccer player but an injury put an end to that and led him to the kitchen. He's trained with some of the world’s leading chefs, such as Albert Roux and Marco Pierre White in London, and Guy Savoy and Joël Robuchon in France. At the age of 31, Ramsay set up his first wholly owned and namesake restaurant, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, which quickly received the most prestigious accolade in the culinary world – three Michelin stars.

Now internationally renowned, Ramsay has opened restaurants around the globe including in London, Las Vegas, Singapore, Baltimore, Europe and Dubai. Ramsay has also become a star of the small screen with hit shows in both the UK & US. From Gordon, Gino & Fred on ITV, Gordon Ramsay's Bank Balance on BBC to FOX's MasterChef, MasterChef Junior, Hell's Kitchen & 24 Hours to Hell and Back as well National Geographic's Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted which airs in 172 countries.

Gift for my wife actually. Apparently the recipes are easy to follow and photos are great. Awesome cookbook. She's been pumping out some bangers lately from this book.

My picky family is enjoying these recipes. In addition to the recipes for good food, the average home cook gets to learn some expert techniques that make things easy yet tasty. Very highly recommended.

I didn't know until after I bought this book and read other reviews that this cookbook has essentially a companion cooking tv series that aired in the UK under the same name as the UK version of this cookbook--Ultimate Cookery Course. He really breaks everything down so easy, so understandable so that you feel like I can really take on these recipes and his food and do it justice.

Having been an avid GR fan for years now, and having indulged in eating at two of his restaurants, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try to challenge myself to make some of his delicious food. I am just a homecook with no prior knowledge or formal training in the kitchen. I have never worked in the food industry in any capacity unless a 1-week stint at Starbucks counts. In fact, I didn't even start cooking much of anything harder than ramen and scrambled eggs until my mid-20's (and I'm on the verge of turning 30 now). The fact that I've been able to learn so much and elevate my own abilities simply by reading and following many of the tips Gordon's included in this book and on the tv series has been kind of a gamechanger for me. I used to eat out TONS, but there's really little need to do so (except for the occasional quick bite or the indulgent dining experience) when I can simply throw something together that's super flavorful and intensely yummy just by following Gordon's instructions.

I've only tried a couple of the recipes out of this book so far, and though I have to make some substitutions here and there if I can't find a certain ingredient (and I live in an area where many culturally diverse foods would be fairly easy to track down, given the nature of ultra-picky/health-conscious/foodie Californian tastes). Each recipe has been a HIT! The boyfriend has loved each recipe, and I've basically been craving more of Gordon's Chile Beef Lettuce Wraps since I've had them. I've also been itching to make variations on his souffle...

The point is--even if you don't consider yourself a MasterChef, this book is easy enough to follow. There's definitely a marked Middle Eastern/Indian and Asian influence throughout the book, and a whole section on cooking with spices/chilies, but be adventurous! Try them all! I probably will.

This book is the printed American version of Ramsay's BBC 10 part series: Gordon Ramsay's Ultimate Cookery Course. Book lies flat. Paper quality first class and cooking and equipment tips outstanding. Great recipes too. This man knows how to cook and how to blend flavors. Glad I got it.

Bought it for the beef wellington recipe but the ingredients are pretty hard to find and the recipe takes 2 days. Great for an aspirational high level cook but tough for the average person.

Gordon Ramsey makes it look so easy to do. I struggle through it, but have fun doing it so it tastes terrific when I'm finally done. I am proud of myself by doing it like a pro.
