Decided to leave a review because of the fact that I have an iMac and it worked well. If you have an Apple device, just search for the other reviews on how to format it appropriately on Disk Utility (essentially erase and rename, then restart computer). I had no issues with it being recognized by the computer (also, plenty of reviews on how to solve this if it happens to you). The whole process from out of the box to functional was < 5 minutes and the majority was doing the restart. I guess that if this bothers you, this product isn't for you since it is not technically ready straight out of the box. On the other hand, it has great storage capability, performance is decent and it is quite affordable compared to similar options.

Working OK to back up my macbook pro if I don't plug in another hard drive. Otherwise the power draw from both hard drives causes the computer to automatically disconnect the hub. Not sure if this is an issue with all drives or this one uses more power than usual. The read/write still works OK.

The media could not be loaded.

I thought I might go safe and go Seagate. Will, that was definitely the right way to go. Opened the box, plugged it in, ignored the additional stuff they tried to sell me and started my backup. Patience will pay off as my quarter TB will be backed up in less time than it takes to watch a movie. In fact that’s not a bad idea. Just connect, Netflix and chill.

However, it has McAfee (Security) and you have to be careful as if you click on 'do you want this app to make changes' it will change your operating system and I have to constantly reset my OS as soon as it finishes uploading. Also, not all files can be backed up. I guess in my case these files are password protected. I am not a techy person but do my best to program the back up files as often as I can.
