Love it. Almost wasn't compatible. Whew! Figured it out.
I love the look and functions. Love having control on the phone! Glad we have it. Working great. However, it almost wasn't to be. I did the compatibility test early on and determined that the wiring we have would be compatable. So I ordered it, it arrived timely. I started the set up, and during one step it asked again which wires are there. I answered by including all of the wires which were there, including the red loop wire, which I had included in my first compatibility test, which was attached to Rc and Rh. At that point the hook up wizard said that it's not compatible with my hook up. Telling me that my system is proprietary. We'll, I was very committed by now....so, besides hoping this wasn't true, I thought about it. I went back to the installation wizard and changed my answer, eliminating the Rh. With the Nest, there was no place for the loop wire anyway. Well, that worked, allowing me to continue with the instalation. It worked well for Air conditioning which we needed in FL. I wasn't sure the heat would work though (since I didn't have an Rh wire). Luckily, the next day we had a cool spell so I was able to turn on the heat. It worked!So, basically, for some reason the compatibility tests before and during installation were different from each other. This nearly caused me to believe the Nest wouldn't work for us. Thankfully I figured out the issue, changed my answer and it worked.
