Happy with this phone on TMOBILE. Setup relatively easy but there are some extra steps needed.
I purchased two of these phones to replace the MOTO G5 units that my wife and I had been using for a few years. These phones are originally for the SPRINT network but they are unlocked and come with special instructions to get them working with another carrier (such as TMOBILE). The instructions recommend the following steps to allow you to send picture messages and get Fast Data speed:1. Settings>>System2. Restart & Rest3. Network Settings reset4. Reset Settings5. Confirm RESET SETTINGS.I followed these steps which are supposed to get the ACCESS POINT NAMES to the TMOBILE network. Now the story regarding the two phones becomes interesting. We will call my phone the "black" phone because it is in a black case and my wife's phone the "pink" phone because it is in a pink case.My phone seemed to work perfectly fine. I went to a TMOBILE store (not authorize dealer) and they provided me with a new SIM card. (I had been a TMOBILE customer for over 5 years.) Everything seemed to work okay with the new SIM card. My old SIM card did not seem to work consistently but the new one was perfect. For the PINK phone, we could get it to work on the TMOBILE network BUT it could not send/receive text messages with pictures. We tried the setup instructions mentioned above several times but with no success. After experimenting for some time, I discovered that the "MMSC" entry for T-Mobile LTE in the Access Point Names (APN) had the word SPRINT in it. The drop down options only allowed me to ADD a new APN and not modify the old ones.I proceeded to add a "dummy" APN on the PINK phone. Once this was added, I was able to use the drop down options to RESET all the APN information. Once this was done, the PINK phone started to work perfectly including the ability to SEND/RECEIVE text messages with pictures. After experiencing this, I realized (remembered) that when I was setting up my BLACK phone, I had added a new APN and then did the reset.IMPORTANT: If you experience this problem when setting up this phone, add a "dummy" APN and then reset the APN values. This should resolve the problem.I should point out something else. We actually went through two "pink" phones. The first one my wife received seemed to work okay BUT every time the phone was turned off and then on again, it would give an ACTIVATION error. (See pictures associated with this review.) Selecting "CONTINUE" allowed the phone to proceed to work normally. This was very annoying. The "black" phone did not have this issue. I ordered a second phone for my wife and it did NOT have this problem. I was able to send back the first phone for a full refund.I suppose this "review" is more of a guide to help users set up the phone. We have both been happy with the units after using them for about 2 weeks. Nice screen. Good camera. 5G speed on the TMOBILE network works well.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you are an audiophile, this is the phone with a headphone jack and "Quad DAC" for you
Reviewed in the United States on December 31, 2020
This is a larger phone, with a nice screen, good battery life and good cameras (four of them). The screen has a "notch" in the top like the newer iPhone, so watching a full screen video will be cut off by the notch. Internal speakers are OK, phone calls are nice and loud. Screen is curved on edges, so a glass screen protector will not wrap around, and the versions that do wrap around only adhere on the edges. I bought these: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07S3SP8PL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1, and the fit the screen perfectly, no bubbles, but they are not glass just plastic scratch protection, and can get little dents from fingernails, which can be brushed out. Get a drop proof case for this. With the case the phone is a little heavy. Hardware is fast and not much bloatware was included. It comes in a version with a case that has a second screen, which is a different model than this one. This is an unlocked Sprint phone, and using it with T-Mobile the phone kept trying to install Sprint software. A call to T-Mobile fixed that, the activated it for their service and the Sprint software stopped installing.

As for the sound quality, even using high end Grado phones this phone delivers great sound, balanced, powerful and accurate. It has a software equalizer and DTX:3 3D sound for the speakers. This phone is best from the headphone jack, plugged in the "Hi-Fi Quad DAC" activates. It has digital sound presets (mine is set to "Normal"), Digital Filters (mine is set to "Slow" as it seems most accurate), and left and right channel balance dials, so you can tune in the best sound for your headphones. I have a number of high end headphones amps and this phone gets close to the sound quality of an external portable amp, just missing the "speaker effect" the best amps can achieve. Plus it has plenty of power to drive less sensitive larger headphones. Paired with the Poweramp app this phone is hard to beat for sound quality for music through the headphone jack.
