I received my phone three days early which for a big purchase like this deserves an honorable mention.
I typically only upgrade my phone once the phone I was previously using is broken or unusable. I upgraded to this phone from the Pixel 3A so please keep in mind that I am comparing this premium product to that mid-tier product.
I left the Pixel eco-system for this Samsung device because Google really trys to force you to use their products. Supporting screen sharing but only allowing you to cast screens with chrome-cast devices not Roku tv's and other devices. Things like this drove me to switch.
The S22's build quality is excellent, the weight and screen size are in my opinion, perfect And the OLED display is impressive to say the least. The actual overall quality of the device had me very impressed. The under screen fingerprint reader is excellent though with all fingerprint readers I have issues after a particularly intense climbing session or while sweating.
My main drawback to the device is the good but not great battery life. I find myself occasionally during a heavy use day having to give my phone a quick charge. I remember after getting my Pixel it lasting days without a charge. This may account for me using my phone more than I used to but the battery does leave something to be desired for me.
