Works on Genshin 🥳 character switching needs tweaking
Samsung Note Ultra23Update 2: after many video watches which never addressed the issue directly I was able to peice together a fix mapping the Dcontrol (very tricky placement with lots of trial and error) and the L2. Annoying but not a deal breaker at this point. It's 3.5 worthy for the Genshin factor but for the fact that there is no month fee like with the backbone and there's a lot of other games with steam I can use this for it's still worth the 4stars.Until they fix the character switch issue it's definitely not a 5 star.UPDATE:I had to take a star. I've spent two days trying to figure out how to map the buttons to let me change characters during a fight. If I can't figure it out soon I'll be sending it back because I have to be able to change characters without stopping my fighting to reach the screen and tap to make the change happen. We're starting with 5 stars and I'll update as needed simply because it works with Genshin. After about a full week of research on this vs backbone for the specific use of Genshin I decided to try this one first. It fits my phone with a slim case.Once I used a how to video to set it up it works perfectly for what I want, to casually sit around and relax playing my game.I'm not sure why ppl keep saying it doesn't play on Genshin because it does. You don't change the control type. You do not need to download a third party app.Leave it on touch screen, map the buttons with the option that is provided via launching the game through the Nexus app. Tweek it how you like and enjoy the game 😁I highly recommend using a video just to be sure. Setting the mapping up correctly is a deal breaker on how to have fun using this.

I bought this to remote play my home consoles (Xbox Series X and PS5) and it’s been a pleasure to use it thus far. My only complaint is that the Nexus app home button of the controller can’t be remapped to use as home button to the before mentioned consoles; but it’s still a good experience. I never owned the previous version of the Razer Kishi so I can’t comment on the quality of the analogue sticks compared to these ones, but I can’t complain. They’re placed comfortably and are reasonably strong (like the Nintendo Switch’s analogues). The face buttons are really “clicky” though, and they sound a whole lot, pretty much like the Xbox controller. Overall, it works flawlessly with my iPhone 14 Pro Max, even though the fit is not as “secure” as it would be with the iPhone 14. The iPhone Pro’s cameras get in the way a little bit. But it’s not a deal breaker, not like you’ll use the thing while you’re running.
Can’t recommend this enough if you like to remote play as much as me :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Turn your phone into an emulator powerhouse (Updated)
Reviewed in the United States on April 6, 2023
EDIT: I've had the Kishi V2 for a while now and have talked some of my friends into getting it as well — it's a solid unit and one of the best on the market. I stand by my initial 5 stars, and have since been able to try out the touch emulation. Zero complaints. I've come to appreciate its subdued appearance, Razer products have a tendency to be really flashy and garish.

I know the GameCube came out 20 years ago at this point, but it continues to be quite surreal being able to play GameCube games on the go on a general-purpose device, with physical controls!

Original review follows, with some edits based on my experience:

I have a hackable Switch, but chose to try this out after being extremely disappointed with the Switch's performance as an emulation system — late N64 releases barely run, and don't even think about playing GameCube games.

The Kishi perfectly fits my Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro 5G out of the box (a phone too big for the Kishi V1, which has hardware about twice as good as a Switch). Buttons feel good, not mushy, and the sticks are good. Triggers feel nice, and the analog support is always nice to have (Looking at you, Nintendo.). The four auxillary buttons are in kind of weird places, but it works.

Tightly grips the phone, and the slight curve to the grips is much more comfortable than holding the phone itself, or even Switch Joy-Con. Build quality feels solid; it flexes a little bit when fully extended, but that's not a position you'll ever have it in except when putting the phone in.

The Razer Nexus app is a little weird and not terribly useful, but it runs under microG and doesn't require an internet connection. The touch control emulation works great in the few apps I've tried it in, but it's necessarily a pretty subpar experience. I didn't keep playing games that required it, native controller support is the way to go. Verify that the games you want to play support controllers before purchasing!

Works perfectly in RetroArch, Lemuroid, and Dolphin — also works to navigate Android itself. Waiting (im)patiently for Yuzu controller support to report on that.

I got this on a Warehouse deal for ~$60. Its normal $100 asking price is a bit steep, but it's not too bad compared to its competitors and for what you get.
