What is Kapok and why is it used to fill the Kapok Pillow?

Kapok fibers are harvested from the seeds of the Kapok tree. We use Kapok because it’s natural, harvested responsibly, super light and airy, and gives you a high-end down-like feel.

How do you wash the Kapok Pillow?

The pillow cover is removable and washable, but we suggest spot cleaning with a mild non-toxic cleaner. You may run the pillow through a washing machine on a gentle cycle and dry it in a dryer on a low heat setting, but it’s best to wash by hand.

How do I adjust the Kapok Pillow?

Use the palms of your hands or fists to massage the pillow and distribute the fill evenly. If after sleeping on the pillow you find that it is still too tall for your liking, simply unzip the pillow cover and remove the desired amount of fill.

I am a side-sleeper and purchased this as part of a recommendation from Sleepopolis (YT) in early 2019. I liked the pillow for its comfort, but I would have preferred a different internal material. Seems like it would be a pain in the buttocks to remove any of the crushed memory foam materials, to either wash it or create a better feel when laying down. I just used it as-is. It's simply an OK rating for me. Not bad, but not loving it. I found the tag particularly annoying, no matter where I put it. Why can't we sew things like this inside of the pillowcase? Not like I need to be reminded every time I lay down that it's a certain brand of pillow......... I have noticed more neck/back pain when using a solid memory foam pillow, and considered switching back to this one, but it's just too squishy and uncomfortable for me.....

 I was in the market for a pillow and stumbled across Layla. The pillow is very comfortable, cool, medium firm feel, and can be adjusted to your preferred specifications. I am someone who slept with 2 pillows and found the loft out the box to be the perfect height. Just be aware that the pillow is vacuum sealed and takes 2 days max to get to its normal size. They also provided a bag for travel or to hold the memory foam and kapok if you want to wash the cover. I highly recommend checking this pillow out especially if you are a back or side sleeper!

Over all I like the pillow. Love the material, feels good and doesn't seem to get as hot as my other pillows. I am a side sleeper and my main complaint is there isn't near enough Fill in the pillow and flattens out way too much. I am having to fold the pillow in half to get enough firmness to keep my head aligned where I'm comfortable. They give you a bag to remove Fill from the pillow if needed, but hey should give you 2 extra bags of Fill so you can put more Fill in the pillow if needed. I would like to buy another pillow, but for over a Hundred dollars I can't justify it with the way it flattens out. It would take 2 pillows to make 1 pillow. Please put more Fill in your pillows, your almost there! I will be sending the pillow back at this price which is a shame as the pillow feels good folded over. They CAN do better and SHOULD do better. Now I have to search for a pillow again. UPDATE: Customer service reached out to me and offered a solution, either refund my money or send me another pillow. I chose the other pillow and am very happy with the new one. Love the pillow and love the customer service. Thank you for making it right and helping me be more comfortable and enjoy my sleep!

I ordered a king size last year and really loved the pillow but after a few dryer sessions and doing everything I was told to keep it with the right amount of rise the pillow just started getting flatter and flatter. So, I contacted Layla to see if I could just order the filler for the pillow. I couldn't. My solution, since I was looking to get a 2nd pillow, was to order the 2 Queen size bundle which made the 2nd pillow from that new order my sacrificial pillow that I used just for the filling.
I will say this....the 2 queen pillows were way flatter than my original purchase. The insides were much smaller pieces of memory foam and my original pillow had very little Kapok filling in it. The 2 queen pillows had a tone of the Kapok filling.
Anyway, now I have 1 king and 1 queen pillow that are truly overstuffed and when there are stuffed they are the best pillows I've ever used. I just wish they had an overstuffed option up front b/c it seems like their new shipments of pillows uses less fill or smaller foam pieces or a combo of the two...I viewed my sacrificial pillow as me just buying filler from them and since it was half off it probably cost as much as they would have charged if that was an option anyway.

This was my first time purchasing a pillow that was more than $20 from a Target/Walmart, etc. I was hoping that a better pillow would help me get better sleep for once in my life, and landed on this one as I like a cool pillow, prefer them a good mix between soft and firm, and needed something that could deal with my variable sleeping positions through a night.
That said, I've had it for about 9 months now and I'm done attempting to adjust and fluff it every single night for some form of comfortability. I really wanted to give it a proper amount of time before deciding if it was the right fit, especially as I've never had a pillow of this 'quality' before, and that took me well beyond the return date. I've just been tolerating it ever since until deciding a review was in order as I'm debating searching for another more 'quality' pillow once more, hoping that this product isn't reflective of all around this price range
Ultimately, I think I'd rather go back to buying the cheap ones if this is the standard set for a pillow that's 5x the price, as I'd save money on something that's about the same feel overall and only have to replace it once or twice in the time I've had this pillow so far.

Overall thoughts:
The fill inside is very nice and soft, but the pillow as a whole struggled to keep its shape longer than a single night for the first couple months, and since then has failed to hold its shape for longer than an hour or so leaving my head near directly on the mattress before I'm actually able to fall asleep, which is extremely frustrating.
It's no more cooling than a standard pillow, unfortunately.
It was the easiest time I've had adjusting to a new pillow, and I didn't have to remove any filling inside to get to that point, but that could partially be attributed to the pillows I used before being near-identical in height.
While it doesn't hold form very well, it is very easy to fluff it back to a proper, even distribution. If you have more patience than me, you might not mind having to do it 2+ times a night.

I was excited about getting these. I have had them saved in my Amazon cart for a while waiting to see if they go on sale. They did and I purchased them. I bought 2 king size. When they arrived I gave them a full day to fluff up. They Did Not fluff very much. Almost no stuffing inside. Zero support for your head. They claim to be overstuffed and that you might need to take stuffing out. THERE IS HARDLY ANYTHING INSIDE IT. FLAT, NOT SUPPORTIVE. VERY FLAT!!! I threw the box away so I'm stuck with basically 2 empty pillow cases. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED. These were expensive and it was false advertising. Not by Amazon but by pillow company.

La almohada tiene un relleno 'medio' no esta tan esponjosa como la sacan, pero la puedes acomodar toda en el centro para que se haga grande o expandirla para cubrir dos personas. Esta super comoda y se va amoldando a tu noche, se acomoda del cuello y cabeza conforme te vas moviendo. Al estar larga puedes girar en la cama y continuar en la almohada. Si tiene un olor medio a plastico al principio y las mega etiquetas pero eso se puede solucionar. Un excelente producto.
