I have installed seven of these outlets in my home. 2 in the Master Bedroom, 1 (each) in 2 other bedrooms, 1 in the Kitchen and 2 in the Living Room. If you have ever done minor electrical work, they are very easy to install. If you have not, I recommend YouTube to see how it is done. These are very convenient when you have a location that needs both regular outlets and USB power. For example, in the M.B. I have them behind each bedside table so we can have table lamps and charge phones / tablets / watches. It keeps the number of adapters needed to a minimum and takes up very little space. Especially when you combine these with [[ASIN: B07WR8JTCN WATOE iWatch Charger Magnetic 2 in 1 Watch & iPhone Charging Cable]]. And yes, the USB ports provide enough power for an Amazon Echo Dot, so you can ditch the bulky power adapter.You can see by the pictures how I wired and replaced a standard outlet. (Please ignore the dirt on the new outlet. I had not done a post-install clean before taking the pic.) I like using the wiring ports (see pics 2 & 3) instead of going around the terminal screws. It just makes it cleaner, in my opinion. And yes, I made sure it was straight when putting the cover on.Overall, I am very impressed with this outlet. For the price, it's a great product.

I finally bought a Hubbell to compare to this, and another USB I had bought previously,
and this Topele did MUCH better in comparable charge rates quality than I thought it would:

Two examples of charge rates
Generally speaking,
the higher the voltage at any given amperage indicates the ability of the device to keep up with the higher charge rates.
By that metric, the Topele did quite well:

Samsung S5
Hubbell USB15x2W 5.09v .53a

TopGreener 4.98v .48a

Fire HD8 Tablet

I didn't try any devices with higher amperage draws,
but if/when I do, I will update this review.

Original review:

Decent quality,
clean style, tamper proof 'doors' function correctly,
and it charged all devices we tried so far quickly.

It has one set of screws (3 screws: hot, neutral, and ground),
hot & neutral are quick wire style ('loose' binding screw style, with back slots for 2 wires each),
ground is fixed screw style.

Device size is about the same as a typical GFCI,
and somewhat smaller than other USB outlets I've used.
There are cooling/venting slots on the back side,
but outlet doesn't seem like it's gotten noticeably warm at all during use.

Rated 4 stars and not 5 due to my perceived quality of device, and brand.
It's not a Hubbell, or even a Leviton,
but it's not Hubbell priced either.

It was a lightning deal, and seems worth it for the price,
not sure in-wall USB outlets are the best place to save money, but so far so good for this one.

I bought this outlet to put in my kitchen where I charge my phones and other devices. The reason I got it was to replace the bulky external adapter that provided six outlets (I only needed two) and two USB ports.

Overall, I'm satisfied by the product but not thrilled with it. The review summary is that it functions well, but was difficult to install and the use of the outlets by anything larger than a standard plug (e.g., a phone charger, a multi-tap or a converter (my wife uses European appliances that require a converter) the USB ports are blocked. It is for those negative reasons I've decided on a four star review although if there were an option for three and one half stars, i would choose that.

Installation:

As you can see from the pictures, this wall outlet is thicker than its predecessor. Although ultimately it fit into my electrical box, in order to do so, it was a struggle. The most difficult part of the install was getting the 14 guage wiring to fi into the new outlet. Simply put, it did not loop around as it did with the old outlet as the wiring was too thick for the screw. I had to cut the wiring to get it to install properly, something I did not want to do but had to do in order to get it installed.

Appearance and parts:

The outlet offered two plates, one traditional with two vsible screws and the other a clean plate which dos not show he screws as it clips into a a scond plate that scrws into the outlet. I've chosen the latter, but included pictures of each.
The only issue with appearance is that the green LED is a bit bright. Additionally, the outlet comes with the necessary screws, two for the plate and two for the outlet.

Function:
The power ports funtion fine, and are a standard size apart to alllow the attachment of a larger adapater that covers both outlets (like the one I used before this) but that would cover the USB ports.

The USB ports operate separetly at close to the rated 2.1 amps. My tsting shows an output of 2 amps, which is pretty standard for 2.1 amp USB ports.

The problem here is that any oversize plugs, such as phone chargers or, in my case, an external USB battery pack, block the USB ports. Any sort of "wall wart", including one my blender uses, block the USB ports, as you can see in the pictures. I looked at other outlet USB devices, and this seems to be a common issue among them.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the outlet and the performance is solid and the product represents a good value for what it provides.

This device is well priced among the many offerings, and due to the excellent reviews I bought one. However, the unit I first received had a defective "shutter" on the lower receptacle - no amount of wiggling would get a plug to fully sit in it. I contacted the company, and they IMMEDIATELY got back to me and offered a replacement. Not only that, but they sent it via Amazon so I received it in PRIME speed. The second unit works fine.

Put this near the bedroom table, now have a lamp plugged in, a spare receptacle, and two USB cords for my electronics. Great!

The electrical code changed a few years ago, and all new home receptacles must be "TR" - Tamper Resistant. The manufactures had to shoe horn in small shutters over each plug so that children couldn't stick metal objects into them. These things often don't work right even in high end units like Leviton (I know this since I just added 12 of their TR units to a refurbished basement).
