Right Features at the Right Price

Cisco 300 Series Switches offer enhanced switch features that support advanced technologies, including quality of service (QoS) intelligence and advanced traffic management to simplify the addition of voice, wireless, and security services. These advanced managed switching features give you a variety of capabilities for controlling traffic over your network and help keep your applications running at peak performance, in a solution designed and priced for small businesses.

Boost business communications with IP telephony, wireless, and other advanced deployments using Power over Ethernet (PoE) connectivity, QoS, and virtual LANs to segment network traffic. Turn up powerful security measures such as access control lists (ACLs) and guest virtual LANs (VLANs) to provide rich services to users while protecting applications and information. Meet tomorrow's networking needs as well as today's with advanced features like static routing and IPv6 support, which let you enable the latest generation of networking applications and operating systems without an extensive equipment upgrade.

    Lower Energy Costs

Reduce power consumption by using these switches. Designed to optimize power usage, the switches offer energy efficiency without compromising performance by powering down ports when not in use. Choose from models that have no fans, so they run silently and unobtrusively, even as they reduce energy costs.

    Simplify Setup and Management

Cisco 300 Series Switches are designed to be easy to configure and manage. They make it easy to set up and manage even complex network environments, reducing the time your staff devotes to network management and troubleshooting. Speed setup with an intuitive, web-based interface that simplifies security, QoS traffic prioritization, and configuration and management.

Speed setup with easy-to-use tools such as Cisco Discovery Protocol, the Cisco FindIT Network Discovery Utility (a free browser plug-in tool that automatically discovers switches, provides key information about the product, and launches directly into the Web UI), and Cisco Smartports, which let your network automatically detect and configure all connected Cisco devices. A CLI and menu-based CLI is also available for customers who prefer text configuration.

Intelligent features simplify voice deployments. The switches support dynamic and automatic creation of voice VLAN and QoS parameters on switches in the network, auto-configuration of ports based on the connected endpoints, instructing the endpoints on correct settings to use, and applying appropriate settings to voice endpoints to help ensure high fidelity of voice traffic.

Protect your investment with a solution that has been designed and tested to easily integrate with other Cisco networking and communications products, including the complete Cisco Small Business portfolio.

    HIGHLY recommended.

Totally silent, NO FAN. High-end features, works great!

After returning Netgear in frustration, this Cisco switch is stunningly superior in every way imaginable, for only a LITTLE bit more money!

It's web interface is so feature-rich, it will impress you for the money. It has a lot of "enterprise" HIGH-END features enabled for a very low-cost home office / small business environment.

OLD reviews may complain there was no famous Cisco Command Line Interface (CLI), but don't worry - that was added years ago in a free IOS software update, and works great if you prefer full control using the CLI... To repeat: YES, it has Cisco Switching CLI (IOS).

Without a Cisco Smartnet service contract, with this Home Office / Small Business switch, YES you do get Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) tech support, and FREE IOS upgrades.

I cannot recommend this switch enough if you've got the LITTLE bit of extra budget to spend for superior quality.

Bought this for my daughter as she and her husband have their own business. Easy to configure. They are both very happy with it. The fact that it is a Cisco switch speaks for it's self. I personally own the SG200-26 and it also performs well. It is much like my daughters except hers has Command Line Interface (CLI). They are both ROCK solid switches, either would be a great addition to any home or small business. If your looking for a feature rich and very manageable switch that will last while others have come and gone. Cisco also has a great support staff, not that you will ever need them.

This is very large for a desktop, you would think that cisco would have miniaturized this switch by now like netgear has. Gui is much nicer than netgear but takes multiple steps to commit. Quiet but bulky.

I bought this switch to have switch, gateway router, vlans and inter-vlan router and for ease of configuration since am very familiar with Cisco IOS. Unfortunately, this switch for my setup is good as any of the very cheap switches in the market. No support for routing protocols such as RIP & OSPF which means I cannot use the switch as a gateway and hence all others will no be useful to me. In addition, I discovered that it doesn't have IOS firmware. The firmware it has is something else that is very stupid to deal with and I was not able to easily figure our how to configure. Not satisfied at all with my purchase very disappointed for the lost money.

This series of switches are great. They do not include an IOS with all the features of Cisco Catalyst switches, but they have a pretty good feature set. They are fast and reliable and have console, telnet, SSH access along with a web interface. I gace several models in production and other than the lack of some more advanced IOS features, I have no complaints. With the never software versions these are much better then when they were first released.

I was happy want the switch came in. The switch went though it's loaded like a champ. Then when I got to the CLI I realized this cisco switch was not like any other switch i have played with, 1. Many of the commands are different like in global mode - >you type config, not config T and may other commands are different in the switch. So much so, that I had to look up an SG300-20 just to make sure I did not get something other than what I ordered. I figured I needed to update the firmware. After 4 hours of updating (8 different updates from the cisco site, nothing changed. looking on the positive side, I figured the GUI might give me better results. I was wrong, the switch is so volatile. it freezes and lose the commands. Worse The GUI doesn't have the commands needed to put the switch in layer three or the button to place IPs in the VLANs. I wanted to use the switch for its VLAN capabilities and for class. If you want a cheap switch that you can use for class that has most of the ability you will train on. This Sg300-20 is not it!!

I still feel like something is aerie. After looking at the SG300-20's CLI and GUI on YouTube verse the one I have. Furthermore, I can't completed the tasks I got it for but it's a nice expensive dumb switch.
