Purchased two of these units after researching several different models. Both have been working perfectly since installing them. Wanted a unit that fastened securely to the original outlet and this one fits the bill. The negative reviews indicating this doesn’t stay in the outlet are obviously not installing the screw that secures it properly. The small red LED strip light on the top of the unit barely is noticeable, and I have both units in the same room. The USB ports charge any and all our electronics just fine — but certainly don’t expect them to charge like a rapid charger. I would purchase more of these in a heartbeat.UPDATE: All still working great and just purchased a third unit. Highly recommended.

I have purchased this specific unit multiple times both locally and online (Amazon). I have had no problems and self-installed without a hitch save repacking the wall receptacles as the back of the unit takes up space. I would add I have not ever had a problem with the install merely the repacking sometimes requires a little extra time making sure the wires pack in nicely.

With regard to the plusses, I find that these units are the USB Ports firm hold on the USB Plugs which is a plus over some of the plug-based USB Ports where a minor pull causes them to fall out of the USB Ports. While it is not a downside, because if you stop to think about it, it's a no brainer, but... remember WIDE box plus in the electrical outlets will block the USB Ports - like duh! Given, I use them in the bedroom wall on either side of the bed and in the living room for guests (as well as my clinic office 2 - one behind my desk for my devices and one next to the client couch for visitors).

As to charging power, I use this to charge iPad and iPhone (and other products sometimes) both through direct lightning plus or in two cases charging cradles that charge through the back of my iPhone. In all case, these charge as fast and well as any standard plugs if not better-faster.

If you have thought about it, you probably have need... get it you will not regret it.

PS: I have 5 of these and not one has failed or not worked.
