~One-year update: I LOVE THIS THING.Everything I said below last year is still 1000% true. This thing is still going strong like it's brand new. It is still freaking beautiful. I use it 1-2x a day, every single day. It's so easy to take off the stand and maneuver quickly, so I'm motivated to actually use it all the time. I'll often do one quick pass just for the corners, like along the toe kick in the kitchen and bathroom where cat hair tumbleweeds manifest like whack-a-moles, and then do another pass in the evening with the full brush roll part to get the dirt from the day. Somehow the canister is full of dust and cat hair every single time, even though this is a no-shoes house and the windows are always closed to keep out the desert dust. The canister is indeed small but I realized that I do not care. I just start with it taking it from the charger base and vacuum from front to back of the house, flip it open and take 8 seconds to dump the debris into the trash can, and go put it back on the charger. That's actually ideal because it's interesting to see how much stuff you picked up in that pass instead of combining cleaning sessions of dirt.My scaredy-cat cat will now get close enough to sniff it while it's running. Also, I have to this day, never manually removed ONE SINGLE STRAND of hair from the brush roll. This is the best vacuum ever and I'll buy it again in a heartbeat when/if this one dies.Lastly, I have taken just the handheld part and the cord part of the charger on campervan trips like I'd anticipated; to the beach with tons of sand and to the desert with red dirt getting in every crevice of your soul, and it has been AMAZING. The battery lasts for the entire trip so you technically could even go without the charge cord if needed. I can't believe I ever used to use a broom and dust pan. I timed it once and it takes ~1 minute to clean the whole van floorspace, ~2 minutes if I do the front seat area too. Knowing what I know now, I would have even bought this specifically for vanlife or as a dedicated car vacuum. I actually think they sell just the handheld part. It's so slim it fits completely under a van or car front seat. I also took it on a long roadtrip in my car and it was awesome to clean up road trip chip crumbs and, you guessed it, MORE cat hair. So much cat hair._____I just got it today and I'm in LOVE. Yes, with a vacuum.I'll start with the packaging because I'm THAT excited about it. When I got my shipment I mentally prepared for all the styrofoam dust that would be floating around my home and plastic tape I'd have to go find scissors for. And the guilt of ordering something new knowing I'm creating so much packaging waste that is going to end up in a landfill.NOPE. Everything aside from the vacuum itself was paper; 100% compostable or recyclable. There was one single twist tie on the cord, and three info stickers that aren't paper, that's IT. Even the tape is paper! And let's talk about the stickers for a minute. If you've ever spent wayyy too much time trying to get ugly sticker goo off your new thing, this one's for you! The sticker even tells you where to peel, and leaves NO residue! Hallelujah. As for the vacuum itself: this thing is my new best friend. Sorry, Brittney, you've been replaced. My house is so clean now that I'm annoyed because I have no more excuse to use my new vacuum today.I normally opt for corded things because battery powered ones just aren't powerful enough. Nope. I was caught off guard how powerful it is. If you use the hand vac part it'll suction itself to the floor if you let it.This means I'm actually going to use it, since I'm no longer tethered to how far a cord will reach and have to find an outlet with each room. I am now free to move about the house! (said in my airplane captain voice)It works perfectly on my woven rugs and hardwood floors. It goes almost all the way flat to get under cabinets and is super slim. No bulky canister preventing the handle from going flat to the floor. It does all that while not being crazy loud. Even my scaredy-cat cat isn't terrified of it! This is unheard of. Normally she will run when she hears the big vacuum just coming out of the closet, before it's even turned on, and bury herself somewhere the whole time I clean. With this vacuum she sat out in the open and watched me clean! This seriously changes everything, no more guilt with cleaning. And lastly, the reason I bought this one over every single other stick vacuum in the first place: it's freaking beautiful. Beeeeautiful!I absolutely detest the look of stick vacuums that have the huge canister at the top. They look stupid, if I'm being honest. Top heavy, clunky, odd. This one... nope. The canister is integrated into the whole wand part and is almost as slim as the wand. To whoever designed this thing, *chef's kiss*.The wand comes off to be the most beautiful hand vac. It works perfectly. It fits into cracks without that old fashioned tube extension thing.Lastly, it's easy to use and store, and just makes sense. The tray stores all the pieces, and keeps the brush part and hand vac part upright and charging. You can also charge just the hand vac with the cord too. I'm going to use that feature in my campervan and use the hand vac as my van's vacuum and charge it off my solar. Two things to mention that are insignificant:—The picture on the listing and box is misleading. Yes it has "power fins" on the brush roll, but there are also brushes next to the fins. The illustration completely omits the brush part which is... interesting. Regardless, I have a long hair cat and I'm a long hair human and after vacuuming my entire house, there were zero hairs stuck in the brush part of the roll and a ton in the canister, so they weren't lying about no hair wrap.—It doesn't have anywhere to store the hand vac extension tip. You can easily pop off the hand vac from the brush roll, and attach the little tip to reach in crevices. But when you want to go back to upright vacuuming, you have to put the little tip in your pocket or something to take it with you around the house. Not a dealbreaker but interesting they didn't include that when everything else was so cleverly designed.Similarly, that little tip has its own home on the storage/charging tray, but the other tip for upholstery has nowhere at all to go. I just sat it on the tray and it fits fine, but it's odd they made a molded spot fit specifically for one tip but nothing for the other.I've never had a stick vacuum before and I'm so glad I waited to spend my precious money on this one. As long as it lasts several years it was worth every penny and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

Okay, let me start by saying that this Shark Handheld Vacuum is the real deal. It's like having a tiny tornado in your hands. Dust and debris don't stand a chance against this mini beast. But, and this is a big but, please note that the person happily vacuuming in the ad picture is not included. I repeat, no vacuuming dude is part of this package. Consider yourself warned!

Now, let's get down to business. This little sucker is as advertised. It's compact, lightweight, and ready to devour anything unfortunate enough to be in its path. From crumbs to pet hair to those mysterious unknown particles that seem to multiply overnight, the Shark Handheld Vacuum tackles them all with gusto. It's like having a personal cleaning sidekick that never complains or asks for a raise. What more could you ask for?

The suction power is impressive for a handheld vacuum. It's so strong that you might be tempted to vacuum your entire neighborhood just to show off. But please, resist the urge. Let's keep the peace, shall we?

The design is sleek and ergonomic, making it easy to maneuver around tight corners and awkward spaces. And the best part? Emptying the dust cup is a breeze. Just a quick flick and all the captured nastiness is gone, leaving you feeling like a bonafide cleaning superhero.

Now, I must admit, the absence of the vacuuming dude is a bit disappointing. I mean, who wouldn't want a personal cheerleader while tackling dust bunnies? But hey, I guess we can't have it all.

In conclusion, if you're in the market for a handheld vacuum that gets the job done with a surprising amount of power, the Shark Handheld Vacuum is your guy. Just remember, you'll have to provide your own vacuuming dude. Otherwise, consider your floors and carpets saved from the clutches of dirt and despair!

Happy vacuuming, my fellow clean freaks!

I've had a good but heavy old vacuum for years, and I bought a handvac to clean the car and for light clean up. The old vacuum did not get under counters and even my couches. The hand vac required too much bending and did not reachvery far under low furniture. I rarely vacuumed, and my floor got pretty dirty.

This Shark Wandvac solved my problem. It was easy to assemble. It is very light weight . Te nosel gets under even my lowest furniture. In addition, the shaft above the nosel rotates 90 degrees so that I could reach way under my lowest furniture.

This vacuum has strong enough suction to pick up most of the dirt in one pass over my wooden floors and area rugs. My rugs are small, light-weight oriental rugs, and even the hand vac picks them up and sucks in the fringes. The Shark Wandvac rarely sucks in the rug but istill picks up the dirt. The instructions say to empty the filter once a month, but my initial use of the vacuum filled it much faster. It's picking up a lot of dirt.

The Shark Wandvac has two minor limitations for me. Although I have a pretty small (1400 sq ft) house, the battery ran down after vacuuming only half of he house. You can buy an extra battery pack, but this is a limitation. I vacuum half the house, do some other things, and vacuum the second half later.

It was also a little hard to figure out how to open the filter chamber. When I figured it out, it popped open and dumped the contents on the floor. No harm done but be careful. There are some minor problems, but I have adjusted to them.

I just got this vacuum, but it makes vacuuming gthe floor so easy that my floors are at last clean all the time, it picks up dirt efficiently, it gets undder everything, and it is so light that it makes cleaning the floor really easy. I recommend this vacuum highly.

For me this vacuum is great but it does have a design problem. I knew when I bought it that it that the battery would not last long and that it didn't hold much in the dust cup, so I really can't complain about those things. I don't think the battery lasts as long as they say if you're using the floor attachment. It does seem to go down less rapidly when using the hand vac only. It's easy to just stop by a wastebasket and dump the dust cup if it gets too full before you're finished.

It's definitely not going to clean a big house in one session, but for daily tidying it works great for me, is light and handy, and I love being able to take off the hand vac and get into places the floor attachment won't fit, then replace it and keep going on the rest of the floor. I'm old and it's not heavy, so that's a big plus. I've been happy with the power, too. Seems much stronger than another brand cordless that I have, and the dog hair not getting wound around the roller is wonderful! That may be the best feature!

BUT, there is a design problem with the dust cup. The diagram for removing the filter from the dust cup is inaccurate. The lid would not open far enough for the filter to come out. Shark customer service had no advice except to apply more pressure. I was afraid it would break, so I returned it and when I got the replacement vacuum I checked that part first. It's got the same design problem, but I could pry the new one open far enough to remove the filter if I work at it. They really need to redesign that part. I see on their website that it is out of stock, as is the battery. So my tip is to check to see whether you can remove the filter for thorough cleaning when you get yours, before you keep it a month and find out it won't come out and you and can't return it to Amazon. It's not something you have to do every day. It's shown in Figure 3 under Cleaning the Dust Cup and Filter. Also, don't put the stand together until you're sure you're keeping it because it can't be disassembled and would be hard to repack after assembly.

Concerning all the complaints about customer service, I went through back and forth on Facebook giving all the numbers they asked for, including the number on the electrical plug (!), and even sending a picture of the problem and was then, after a day or so of this, told I had to call and go through troubleshooting on the phone and give them all the numbers again. I don't consider that excellent customer service and that's why I just returned the product and got a replacement. I just hope nothing goes wrong with it during the warranty period. I have a corded Shark vacuum and have never had any problems with it. Deduct a star for the dust cup problem. If not for that it would be five stars for my use.

5.0 out of 5 stars light weight and convenient
Reviewed in Canada on November 14, 2022
I live in a small house with mostly floors and low pile area rugs. Does a great job on both. Easily goes under kitchen table and around chairs to pick up crumbs. Parts go on and off with one click. I can clean whole main floor using 50 - 60% of battery. It recharges within an hour. Hand wand detaches easily and came with a crevice tool, small brush and larger brush. Debris container easily empties. It doesn't hold much so needs to be emptied after each use. Conveniently stores upright on free standing charging platform. This is great since I rent and don't want to attach to walls. Main brush head is narrow enough to do stair treads. Love it!
