There are times when a regular large Dutch oven is too big. This 2.75qt Cocotte fills that void perfectly and performs without missing a beat.

The size is perfect for meals for smaller meals, especially for when you don't have time for low and slow to take all day,

I reach for this more than any other pot in my kitchen. Soups, stews, roasted/braised chicken and beef, and rice, just for starters.

Staub has an enamel interior that slowly seasons as you cook with it. That, plus the spiked lid that self-bastes your food is the main reason that I chose Staub over Le Creuset. The lid seals extremely well. I just brown the meat on the stove, add my spices and herbs (fluid if any), toss the whole thing in the oven, set the timer and come back when the timer goes off.

And the blue cocotte is beautiful. The color is deep and rich. The form follows function, so there's no unnessary frills, just a pretty but sturdy pot that will last for decades with good care.

I would recommend this to anyone who is a serious cook or anyone who simply wants to have just a few good pieces of cookware in their kitchen that they can do almost anything with.

Enamel coating cracks

This product did not last. The enamel coating cracked. I've used it maybe a dozen times over the last two years. Not only that. It's only been used as a dutch oven for bread. I didn't even use soap only rinsed to get rid of the flour. I do not recommend this product at all.
