After cutting myself and getting 5 stitches in my thumb I went on a quest for a safer way to cut my avocados. I purchased this tool and one other and over the past two weeks have used both of them numerous times. This one works fine on ripe avocados although I'm not crazy about the blade used to remove the pit as it does have quite a sharp edge to it. This morning the avocado wasn't quite ripe and it slipped while I was cutting into the skin and I got a, small, paper cut like cut on my finger. Now before you think I must be some kind of clutz I want you to know that I have never cut myself cooking or preparing food in over 50 years! Not saying it's a bad tool because it's not, just saying be aware of the sharp edge!
