I'm impressed by the Vamvo's image clarity at 1920x1080 resolution and especially by the 5000-lumen brightness which, even at full-throw using a double garage door as the screen, was very visible in dim ambient light. I also love all the available IO options: two HDMI ports, and for legacy equipment, baseband/component ("AV") and even VGA! For audio output on VJ sessions, I brought along a 1/8" y-cable so I could drive powered speakers as well as a Bluetooth link to a chain of wireless speakers.
Crucial features for me were the media options: the Vamvo takes a micro SD card as well as a USB mass storage device like a thumb drive, and it supports a good range of popular video formats/codecs. (There's also a convenient, USB power-only port for supplying 5V to devices so for example, you can power your cell phone while streaming over it.) For my project, I wanted to display prerecorded content, so I purchased a 128 GB SD card and a small form-factor 128 GB thumb drive. I found that the projector's OS couldn't read my new drives because they were formatted as exFAT, so I reformatted them to the more universally compatible FAT32. Windows won't permit you to do this with a driver larger than 32 GB--although it *will* mount and support it--so I downloaded and used a free formatting utility. By copying my mp4 video files to both the SD card and the USB drive, I had a backup in case of corruption, but if I want, I can use the combined 256 GB for movie storage.
The on-screen menu system is basic but adequate. To access the menus, I seldom use the touch-sensitive buttons on the projector, preferring the more feature-rich remote controller instead. (But its nice to know the option exists, if ever I misplace the remote.) The projector has two IR receivers for the remote, one facing forward and one facing backward so you can command the projector if you're sitting behind or in front of it. If the projector is behind me, I just aim the remote control at the screen and bounce the signal back to the projector; it's conveniently like controlling a TV. One feature I would like to see on the remote is a skip command (next/previous) specifically for media files. The work-around is either to step back in the menu and select the next or previous file, or else to fast-forward (there are two FF/Rew speeds) to the end of the current video which could take some time. I've taken one(-half?) star off the Remote Control rating for this, but that's perhaps a bit harsh for this minor inconvenience. But compared to all the other very well-thought-out features, this inconvenience stood out.
I've run this projector in a number of settings now, both indoors and out, and I'm impressed by the performance as well as the intelligence and versatility of design. The housing around the LEDs becomes warm but not hot to the touch; the internal fan has proven a good balance between quiet and effective. There are even a couple of removable hatches permitting the user to blow out the dust screens if necessary in linty environments. The projector has modest (~15 degrees?) keystone correction--a manual control that adjust the optics for use only if the screen is above center line, not below. But that should pose no problem if you suspend the projector from the ceiling because there's an inversion setting that permits upside-down mounting (I plan to exploit that feature in my media room) and even a left/right mirror swap so you can project from the backside of a translucent screen (I might use that in an art installation to project through a scrim). Other user controls affect aspect ratio (auto, 4:3, 16:9) and picture quality (contrast, brightness, sharpness, etc. if I recall correctly.)
I find the sound over the 5W internal speaker to be perfectly adequate for most personal viewing, but as with any projector, connecting to a decent sound system is best for movie viewing. The remote has a volume control for the internal speaker.
In my opinion, this company has gone all-out to provide the user with a great experience, right down to the nifty soft-case and the cables they provide (HDMI, and 1/8"-to-component) to facilitate most setups. To the included accessories, I also added a long and a very long 1/8" stereo cable (for distant speaker placement, but you could alternatively use a Bluetooth transmitter) and a UsbC-to-HDMI adapter so I can stream video from a cell phone or tablet. I have yet to test the projector with a Fire TV Stick or Roku. I think the Vamvo projector is a great value for such a versatile, well-engineered and high quality item; I highly recommend it.

Waiting excitedly, though not happy with the amount I did spend; I was still looking for something out there and happened to see this Vamvo L6200 1080p projector. Now, what I ordered was 4k and this was 1080p, yet some of the impressive set of features of Vamvo, were missing in the one I ordered (e.g., few simple things such as, audio out, speakers, etc.).
The price I paid for the Epson was 7 times the Vamvo's price. I decided to give this one a try - remember - this is my first projector ever. I canceled the order for the other projector and ordered this one.
Totally zero expectations - I was sure, it is not going to be a great experience and eventually, I will return this. But, here is the story:
Not having any white screen, I started projection on the wall (yellow wall, can you believe it?) Know what, it was not bad. I actually watched a full episode on Netflix, just like that; Didn't even realize that anything was missing - windows were open - evening lights coming from outside, and the sound coming from the speakers was actually good.
Did set up a white sheet (not an actual screen) by the evening, and wow! the experience was amazing. Literally! It was dark by the time, white screen, darkroom and I watched a full movie without any complaints or regrets, actually enjoying the big screen experience.
Now some technicalities:
1. Using Chromecast is a breeze (see picture), just plug it in the projector itself and you are good.
2. Audio coming from the projector is no less than how it comes from the TV. Unless you are picky, you would not complain.
3. Picture quality, 1080p. Nothing less, nothing more!
4. Lamp brightness - excellent for dark rooms when it comes to entertainment. However, it is sufficiently bright for powerpoints even during normal room light conditions.
5. Picture size: I did not cross 120" depending upon the distance I placed it, but it can go more and still no degradation on quality.
6. I watched it at times sitting behind the projector and at times sitting in front, and the remote never forced me to do any directional twists. I happened to just generally use the remote, as we do any remote and it is perfect.
7. Keystone shift adjustment is ok, and sharpness control (by lens rotation) is decent (use a static picture to set the sharpness and it's easy). Vertical and horizontal positioning of the image can only be controlled by projector placement. Horizontally, it should be right in front of the screen and for vertical adjustment, there is a support-padel at the bottom that can be extended as required. Just ensure that you place it on a flat surface, even a minute invisible slope on the surface can tilt the image. That's why I used a flat wooden board when I faced this.
8. Zoom not possible without moving projector; and IMHO, this is not even expected from a projector of this price range. And frankly speaking, how often do you do that, once set the screen and projector's location and direction why would you play with that. What's the point for paying for features which we use less often and there can be a manual way of doing it, to some extent.
9. Input sources as per specs are all there and work fine. I did not try VGA though.
10. The external feel and texture is decent and does not look cheap at all. In-fact the cover-box is good for long term storage and moving around. I am not using that though, because I am eventually fixing it in one place. But I can see the usage and it is great.
Now, after two weeks of viewing experience, PowerPoint usage, even casual working on a large screen, this is worth every penny.
Definitely this is not one of that super sharp 4k experience that I would want to have when I set up an individual home theatre room, but this is no less for a make-shift home movie experience. Adding a Dolby Atmos surround sound soundbar for the complete living room movie experience. The picture quality is just great, already.
Now I really don't have any cons to talk about, who cares about the length of the power cord, not having a battery of the remote, and with decent movie sound, any fan-noise anyways don't come up. Practically, I did not hear any loud noise anyways. I mean come on, it is under $300. Definitely, definitely a satisfying buying from all aspects.

The only disadvantage for me is that I find it impossible to get the image evenly sharp. If the bottom right corner is completely sharp, the upper left corner is slightly out of focus and vice-versa. This doesn't matter for a movie, but it is bothering a bit with text/ subtitles etc. I am pretty sure this is a manufacturing flaw and you might not have the issue with every one of these. It is not terribly unsharp but enough to notice it when you really pay attention to it. I am using it on a big wall, and the picture looks good, even with a 4-5m diagonal.
