Stop complaining about the size and review the actual product! (Rant, Review, & Recipe)
I was a little hesitant at first to buy this starter size pouch because of the price. I wanted good quality but kept asking myself, "What if I don't like it?" The company offers a 100% refund on their product so I went for it. Problem solved!RANT: The biggest complaint I see from people on here is in regards to the amount you are getting for the price. They are not reviewing the quality of the item within the packaging or the flavor, etc. If you don't review the actual product and focus only on the quantity or packaging, the review is mostly worthless. As consumers, we get enough worthless reviews that are paid for, we don't need more worthless reviews because people only want to focus on the quantity and packaging and not review the quality. All are important in a review but the quality should be what is focused on.Why is that that because it is a smaller size, people feel entitled to receive it for next to nothing? These are probably the same people that pay almost $2 for a 20 oz bottle of soda while the 2 liter bottle is only $1 and they don't bat an eyelash. What they fail to understand is that making smaller sizes like this is not very cost effective for them to make. It probably costs them the same, or close to the same amount of money to purchase the bags they use for this size as it does for a larger size. These sampler sizes don't sell as well either. Unlike the bottle of soda that is "personalized" in size for the consumer to grab and go, this is a product that takes time and effort for the consumer to prepare. It is not meant to be a personalized size. If it were, people would have no problem paying for the convenience. Consumers are so spoiled and don't understand the costs associated with what it takes to import, pay the farmers a fair wage, the manpower and materials it takes to package the product, etc. I can guarantee you however, if a fair wage is not paid, someone is bound to call the 5:00 news! If you want sample sizes, fair wages, and the like, the consumer is going to have to pay for them or the company will go out of business really fast. How many people have purchased an actual vanilla bean? Or saffron? Or truffles? No one seems to have a problem paying a high price for these items but complain about $10 for 30g of quality culinary matcha. Just like those items, a little matcha goes a long way.It depends on how you plan to use it. If you are going to bake with it, buying a starter size is not cost effective for you.If you are using it to make a tea latte, which is why I bought it, this is still gives you enough for 15 lattes that are 16 oz in size making them roughly $1.63 each (my recipe for this is below). Costs will vary depending on your ingredients of choice, and the area you live in. My numbers are based on $10 for 15 servings of this matcha and $0.08 per oz of organic vanilla almond milk in Austin, TX. Go to a coffee shop and you will pay at least $5 for a matcha latte of the same size, which is yet another thing buyers won't complain about. OK, RANT OVER...ON TO THE REVIEW!REVIEW/COMPARISON: I used to hate the taste of Matcha but after years of taste bud readjustment, I decided to give it another try at Starbucks. They use Teavana brand for their lattes which is like Jade Leaf and does not use fillers and is organic. I try to avoid dairy so I used almond milk for my iced latte instead. Neither their tea or almond milk is sweetened so I added 3 pumps of vanilla to their venti size (they usually use 6 if you want it sweetened). Something about their almond milk leaves a bad aftertaste but before that hit, it was really good. Like most people, I can't afford $5 a day for one of these so I decided to buy the powder to make on my own at home (I was a barista in a former life so I often do this with my coffee concoctions too). What I don't like about the Teavana brand is that it is much more expensive ($25 for 40g) and they claim it is ceremonial grade and yet, it looks and tastes exactly like Jade Leaf's culinary grade. In the brief research I did before buying, not a single self-proclaimed matcha aficionado EVER said to use ceremonial grade for a latte. They all very plainly stated that it was NOT for culinary use and that the taste is quite different. It is also higher in chlorophyll so it is a much brighter green color. That begs the question as to why Teavana, which looks and tastes the same as Jade Leaf is labeled ceremonial grade and being used for lattes when it is clearly the same culinary grade. This morning, I made my first iced latte with this stuff from Jade Leaf. Using an organic, vanilla (sweetened) almond milk I found it was perfectly sweet and still had the very slight hint of the bitterness that comes from green tea. No weird almond milk aftertaste like the one from Starbucks. Needless to say, in the end, I will be buying this again in a larger size. It does say to store it in the fridge so that is where mine went when I was done with it. I plan to do a juice fast soon and a few recipes I have seen call for green tea for an extra metabolic and antioxidant boost. I plan to use this instead since it is so much more nutritionally dense than regular tea leaves.RECIPE: They offer some recipe options on their Amazon listing and also on their website, but this was my super simple one that I threw together and was delicious.Iced Matcha Vanilla Almond Latte:4 oz (1/2 c) hot water (not boiling but barely steaming to help dissolve the matcha easily)1 tsp Jade Leaf Organic Matcha12 oz (1-1/2 c) cold vanilla flavored almond milk, or other milk of choiceSweetener of choice, to taste (optional, I don't use any because my almond milk is already sweetened)Ice cubesNOTE: Sweetening options will have to be done at different steps depending on what you are using. If you are using liquid sugars like Torani or homemade simple syrups, those can go in at any time. Honey, agave, coconut nectar, sugar, and artificial sweeteners, should be blended in when you whisk the matcha into the hot water otherwise they will not dissolve properly and will settle at the bottom of the cup.1. In a glass measuring cup, add 4 oz hot water.2. Add 1 tsp of matcha powder and whisk together (see note for adding optional sweeteners)3. Pour into a 16-20 oz cup over a few ice cubes to cool it.4. Top off with the 12 oz vanilla almond milk (or other milk of choice) and stir to blend.Add more ice if desired.ENJOY Y'ALL!

Flavor Name: Ceremonial Teahouse (Pouch)Size: 1 Pound (Pack of 1)Verified Purchase
I've tried several brands of matcha over the years, but this is my all time favorite! It doesn't have to be Teahouse edition, any ceremonial blend from Jade Leaf is wonderful. But I have bought Teahouse the last two times I've ordered, because it comes in this huge pound pack. It's expensive, but not really. You get a ton of matcha for the price, and it's cheaper in the long run. Especially if you were buying matcha lattes elsewhere!
I used to bring a small tin of matcha to work with me, along with a little squeeze bottle of sweetener. And I'd just grab a bottle of room temp water, drink a little to make space, then scoop some matcha in with a few drops of sweetener and mix vigorously. It worked pretty well and only left a few tiny globs of unmixed matcha. But the effect it had on me was so good that I came to love this simple mixture.
Matcha contains L-Theanine, which mellows you out and honestly is just the best thing ever! It also contains caffeine, so it gives you energy. The 2 things working together is like a natural speedball! But it's not intense. You just feel calm, awake, and focused. And I've never felt a crash like I have from other caffeine sources. This is more sustainable energy.
I tried the lavender oatmilk matcha latte from Starbucks a few months ago, and thought it was so good! I can tell the matcha they use is not as good as Jade Leaf, but the flavors compliment each other so well! At nearly $7 for a large, I started looking into making my own.
I found some Torani lavender syrup at TJMaxx and everything changed....
At first I made a lavender cold foam for the latte, but quickly realized I didn't actually need it. There are very easy recipes online if you're interested.
Because the Jade Leaf matcha is SO good, the simpler the better.

I just take some warm water and add in lots of matcha- to make a concentrated amount. I put it in a cup with a lid and shake it really well- the warm water helps it to dissolve. Although if you have a wand or small blender, that would work well too.

In a cocktail shaker I add ice, some of the matcha concentrate, oatmilk, and a dash or two of lavender syrup.....and shake really well. Then pour and drink as is, no foam needed.

Aerating the 3 ingredients is the key. It also gets it really cold without having to deal with ice melting into your drink. If you don't have a cocktail shaker, use any cup with a lid.

This homemade version with this superior matcha is so much better than what I can buy at a coffee shop. Speaking of, I have given up coffee for lavender matchas. I love coffee and espresso, and can make both at home, but really have no interest anymore. The matcha tastes better and makes me FEEL better!!
I even bought a bottle of L-Theanine supplements in pill form- they're just derived from matcha! They make me feel wonderful too, but not as good as making and drinking my own. It's almost a spiritual experience, and I can clearly see why there are ceremonies dedicated to consuming it.

I hope everyone else gets this much out of it, good luck!

This matcha gives me energy and no jitters. Its clean and earthy flavor is delicious. I've tried many matcha brands, but Jade Leaf ceremonial matcha really is the best. This tea is a vibrant green color compared to other teas I’ve tried. Definitely worth the price! I've ordered it multiple times and will keep coming back for more. Also the airtight container it comes in is great for keeping it fresh. I leave it in my fridge and it’s great. Also there is no added sugar which is ideal. I look forward to my matcha latte every morning! Highly recommended!

Having no experience with Macha aside from the Green Tea-Macha blend in "macha" tea bags, I'm not sure where to go with this review. I certainly can't give an accurate comparison based on the point of view of a seasoned tea-sipper, but I can tell you my experience. I'm sure there are "tea snobs" out there who would vehemently argue, but I'm still somewhat of a Macha virgin, so I ask forgiveness and suggest you take what I say with a grain of salt.

So: I ended up getting the culinary grade Macha as opposed to ceremonial. I'm not sure the difference here other than price, so I went with what was more bang for my buck. The flavor was light, earthy, and fresh. Much better than the bags I'd been steeping. I used the powder straight-up rather than mixing it into a smoothie or latte or stirring it into a batch of baked goods. I used a smallish kitchen whisk to blend it into a cup of hot water, and it dissolved 100%. So specialty whisk not required either. The drink was easy to prepare, with no messy tea bag or waiting 5-7 minutes for it to properly steep. The Culinary Grade works perfectly for what I need it for and I see no need to upgrade. Overall experience was 10/10.

As for the value for my dollar. This is very affordable. For about the price of 24 single-serving bags of my usual organic Macha-Green Tea (brand name withheld here), I can get 100 servings of Macha powder. Not only is this a far better deal, but the flavor is much better too. Not to mention much more versatile. That is, should I decide to branch out into lattes or baked goods, I can do so. And maybe I'll get daring at some point. There IS that cookie recipe that looks pretty yummy...

One thing: I do recommend you transfer the powder from the original package to a jar. Just for ease of use and less spillage. I also suggest you refrigerate after opening.

Lo recomiendo, no es necesario usar leche. En lo personal no me desagrada si tiene un ligero toque amargo.
Pero se nota la calidad desde el aroma del té seco.
Lo recomiendo.
Gracias.

Seems to be a very high quality. Beautiful bright lime colour. Love the smell - so fresh. Tastes great in my lattes with soy milk. Will be buying again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Matcha Powder, EVER.

EDIT: I've now purchased and almost finished my 2nd bag and made countless lattes both hot and cold!

I'd like to start off by saying this is hands down the BEST matcha powder I've ever owned and am beyond happy that I made the purchase! This is my review after drinking 3 lattes!

PROS:

Taste - like many have already stated it does taste pretty identical to Starbucks matcha powder, that being if you're making it into a latte, only difference is that you're in control of how much and what type of sweetener you use. Honey is recommended! The matcha tastes incredibly clean, fresh and light tasting (easily adjustable to preference), very smooth and you cant seem to stop sipping it, there is no powdery or bitter aftertaste either which I love!

Blending - It's extremely easy to blend up in a standard blender, if you're not someone who wants to use the whole bamboo method this powder will suit you perfectly. A tsp into the blender with 1/4 cup warm water and blend for 30 seconds and it's perfect to pour over ice, just shake the blender to catch the bits that do get up the side! It comes out insanely smooth I love it.

Price - Cant beat the price, if you're debating whether to go for the smaller bag or larger bag GET THE LARGE, you wont regret it. For the price of the large bag you can make 50 servings that's about 5 starbucks drinks, incredibly worth. Matcha is usually quite expensive and I was questioning whether or not to even buy this but I am SO glad that I did its beyond worth the price.

Customer Service - after purchasing the matcha the company sends you a lovely email with a little booklet all about their matcha and how to use it to get the best results. Who knew you should keep it in the fridge to preserve freshness? I didn't! Theres recipes to follow to have the perfect cup which I found very useful as in the past I wasnt able to make a smooth perfect tasting cup, which is what always turned me away from purchasing matcha but after following these instructions I've been able to make the perfect matcha 3 times, my boyfriend even loved it! And it visually looks beautiful when you pour it over your iced milk!

CONS:

None. Literally, there are no cons in my opinion with this product or company. I'm beyond happy and look forward to making my matcha lattes daily and saving money at Starbucks now! Amazing ♡

My recipe is:

1 tsp matcha powder
1 tsp honey
1/4 cup warm water

Blend for 30 seconds and pour over iced vanilla almond or soy milk, for milk just fill up a mason jar to almost full but leave a little room for the matcha and its heaven.
