No quality control, stay away from this version.
Note: This is a review of the Hollywood Records LP release, not the music itself (Album itself is a 5 star in my book). OK, first; the record arrived in what appeared to be perfect condition, that is until I removed the record from the sleeve. Right away I noticed a scratch that runs the full length of side 2. There's no way this happened in transit or while stored somewhere, this was on the record before it was placed in the sleeve at the factory. Then it gets worse... side one of the record is pressed so far off center (The needle travels about 1/4 inch left-right) that any long playing note sounds absolutely horrid. And finally the sound of the record itself is very lifeless and dull. Long time ago I had the original release on vinyl, and currently I own the 2011 remaster on CD, and while the CD has it's own issues both of those sound much better that this Hollywood Records pressing of this album. Very disappointing purchase.Innuendo [Vinyl]

Just as a side note, I know that Freddie was dying during the process of this album, but you would never know it from the videos of some of their released songs, where Queen and Freddie seem to be having a lot of fun.

I think what I love most about this album is that it sort of typifies every single phase, element, or moment of Queen from the years prior, and gives you a glimpse into those moments that are Queen and lets you enjoy them. There is 1970s Queen here, 80s Queen here, and 90s Queen here. And we have the slow song, the upbeat song, the rocking song, etc. I think this is Queen as their unique selves, with many different hats and not fitting into music genre boxes.

I was trying to come up with the perfect adjectives to describe Freddie Mercury’s voice in this album and I think that majestic, grandiose, and legendary fit the bill. He has a voice all his own and no one really comes close. The range, the power, the emotion, make him a distinct musical artist, and Queen’s last album embodies all of this.

As far as the songs on the album go, two the of the “lesser knowns” and underrated that really hit home and were my favorites were “Ride the Wild Wind” and the title track “Innuendo”, a song which is similar to, but, in my opinion much better than “Bohemian Rhapsody” (and I really like “Bohemian Rhapsody”). It is so uniquely eclectic in its presentation.

Overall, Innuendo is a fabulous swan song for Queen, one of their best which consists of their unique sound!

I had never bought a Queen album before. I didn't know anything much about the band except for their hits and I had heard quite a bit about the enigmatic Freddie Mercury. Well I've been trying to branch out a bit lately so I just randomly bought a bunch of Queen albums last week. The first one that I listened to was "A Night At The Opera". Very good album. I liked it a lot. Then I put "Innuendo" in. It blew me away right away. Wow. I own a lot of albums. I have a CD collection of about 200, and I don't have very many bad albums in my collection at all. So this means a lot when I say this: I already consider this to be one of the best albums I own. When I learned that this was released the same year Freddie died, it made it even more powerful. I mean here you have this guy who's near his death bed giving one of the greatest rock performances ever.
Some people have said that this is a dark album. I find it to be very uplifting! A few of the songs are really reflective, but the overall feel of the album is something like, "Don't let it get to you!" The only song I don't like very much is "The Hitman". The rest are just crazy good. I see one reviewer doesn't like Delilah. Well I think that's one of the strongest songs on the album. Go figure. The vocals on it are hot! It's a love song about his cat. I read that Freddie lived alone with lots of pets. He loved his cat. Really touching if you ask me that he could find the love in a simple animal. You really get the feeling that he was making the most of his life.
I just love this album so much. If you consider yourself even a mild rock fan, you have to buy this.

The very best work of Queen.in this magnificent work of art. You really have to pay attention to the innuendo's (no pun intended). If you are a long time fan, IE: more than 20 years you come from a time where you actually sat and listened to music. Queens songs are timeless because they are so heavily veiled. Almost all the songs give a snippet of what's going on in their lives. It's rather fascinating to discover that songs match up to divorces, lovers, drug fueled destructive behaviors and the beauty of life. Innuendo is the raw forthright brilliance that sums it all up. If you go back to the beginning and follow Freddies songs, he actually is giving us an accounting of his life as he goes through his life. In the Lap of The Gods sums up his issues about his career choice. You Take My Breath Away his first affair with a man. Death on Two Legs we know. Love of my life we know. Somebody To Love we know. etc. But Innuendo is a bitter sweet review of his life. On Bijou you will find the most perfect his voice has ever been. Even though he only sings 2-3 lines. Innuendo strips away all facades and you finally see him.

It's his last CD and sometimes his voice seems weaker than normal BUT it's still Queen.

I purchased this album the day it was released, as I always did when new Queen music was available. It begins with the magnificent "Innuendo" one of Queen's best. "I'm Going Slightly Mad" is a funny, but in retrospect sad song about Freddie's health at the time. "Headlong" is a straight up rocker as only Queen can do it. "I Can't Live With You" is an amusing song that will grow on you. "Don't Try So Hard" is a chilling song that seems to talk to you individually. "Ride The Wild Wind" is like going on a musical motorcycle ride. "All God's People" is a gorgeous song that makes you feel closer to God. "These Are The Days Of Our Lives" is a touching song that makes you appreciate the simple things while you can. ""Delilah" really gets to me because I can imagine how Freddie felt when he wrote it. "The Hitman" is one more chance for Brian to prove he is the king of the guitar. "Bijou" is one of those musical moments that are hard to put into words. It is just beautiful to listen to. "The Show Must Go On" is the best song in rock and roll history. I still can't hardly listen to it without getting teary eyed. A farewell song that is majestic and heart wrenching. If you need proof of Queen and Freddie Mercury's genius this album will do.

What can I say? This is the only album of Queen I have on CD, because I can enjoy it from start to finish, basically it doesn't have filler songs unlike the other albums which I can't appreciate enough to purchase them. And what an album Innuendo is. What an ending of an legend, Freddie Mercury The Show Must Go On.
