Frankie Miller has a fantastic voice and these are really good songs. What a surprise when I started listening and the music was so much better than I could have hoped.

Years ago i purchased this album in a dollar bin on vinyl, and couldn't get enough of it. Had been looking for it for years on mp3, and was thrilled to finally come across it.

If you have any kind of love for 70's southern/bluesy rock, this is the album for you.

I think I read a review of this disc in Rolling Stone Magazine, oh maybe about 25 years ago or so. I remember little about the review, but the music from this vinyl record I own is unforgettable. If you enjoy earthy, get down, rock and roll, you will enjoy "ROCK", by Frankie Miller. Key to this albulm: Great guitar work (not sizzling, blow your mind lead work, but grab you by the scruff of your neck and throw you on to the dance floor kind of guitar work ; piano playing that is, oh jeez, it's just perfect for this music, played like rock and roll piano should be played ; brass that fits perfectly, never turning this rock classic masterpiece into a Chicago concert ; and finally, Frankie Miller, singing his songs (great songwriter), in his much better than Eddie Money voice, with heart-felt conviction and raw (raw is a good way to describe this music) emotion. If you like any of these muscicians: Rolling Stones, early Rod Stewart, John Cougar Mellancamp, Bruce Springsteen, etc...., well, you will find a gem if you can get lucky and grab this one up. I suggest you turn it up loud when listing to it!

This CD has stood the test of time. I listen to it everyday. When my students hear one of the songs, they ask "who is that" because they like the sound. Of course I proudly tell them. The song "The Rock" plays 2nd on my ipod followed by "Over The Line" which is from another Frankie Miller album. Frankie sings the best blues/rock ever.

. . . mit einer rauchigen Rockstimme ala Frankie.
Ebenfalls teilweise skurile Texte.
