Too Fast for Love 2022 CD review
I first bought this album on cassette in 1983 after buying Shout at the Devil on cassette. I loved this album from the start as well. The first two Motley Crue albums are classics and a must have for even the casual Crue fan. On to the CD review...Despite loving this album, in digital form I have only had it in mp3 that I purchased years ago and ripped to CD. I just never got around to buying the previous Crucial Crue CD version. With the recent re release of this album to CD and the very reasonable price I decided it was time to add it to my physical media collection. The digipak looks great and there are no printing errors like what some people got with Theater of Pain. This latest release, according to the liner notes, was mastered by Barry Diament, a well known and respected audio engineer. After one listen I'm very happy with how this cd sounds. I cranked it up and it didn't seem to have the harshness CDs can sometimes have and sounded great at lower and higher volumes. I have the vinyl version that was released a few years ago (not the most recent one) and it sounds fantastic as well. This CD is a nice companion to that and sounds much better than the older digital version. I'm happy to have this in my collection and highly recommend it.

It's fun to listen for echoes of the first album throughout a band's entire catalog, so I bought all of Motley Crue's up to Dr. Feelgood. I don't have much use for them after that.

This album is a requirement to learn for guitarist wanting to play hard rock and metal music. Mick employs so many classic riffs and techniques in his playing it's like a master class of the genre. The production style is very simple and straight forward, but it works. One does get the feeling as if the whole band is playing this live in the studio. Looking back, they could have forgone the satanic imagery. The devil is utterly lacking from this record of mainly lust and romance. Oh, yeah, lots of cowbell.

I love this album because of its raw, punk/indie style and attitude of the production and it just goes to show that if you write a great song, whether you spend $100 or $100,000 on the project, the song still sounds incredible! With that being said, the rawness and punk DIY attitude also add to the character of the LP! Make Sure You Watch ‘The Dirt’ on Netflix, if you haven’t already seen it! Absolutely incredible job of making that movie and the actors, I felt, did a stand up job of portraying the boys! If this was your scene, and you grew up as part of this LA and SF metal scenes, then your nostalgic juices will be flowing heavily!

This is the one that started it all. Motley Crue when they were still the Crue. There's elements of metal in these songs. But there's also the raw power of early punk scattered throughout. I had this on cassette way back in the early 1980s. I'm not the biggest Crue fan, since they've put out more garbage than good material. But this is one of their three or four albums that rock. It's why I've added it to my iPod. This version has a few bonus tracks that weren't on the original album. These tracks are average to below-average. But the energy of "Live Wire" still gets the blood pumping.
