XM4 where headphones that felt like an experience everyone should experience; their sound quality and noise cancelling were the best allegedly.

I got these headphones, and I was speechless by the noise cancelling, it's finally to a level close to wearing ear plugs at a gun range.

The comfort and build quality have also been improved greatly, it feels like a complete upgrade with a fully padded headband, lighter weight, and improved ear cups.

The sound quality is not much better than XM4s, infact, I don't know if it's actually gotten any better. The listening experience is greatly improved with the noise cancelling. I got the XM4s a long time ago and I know their sound quality has slightly degraded.

Definitely buy these over XM4s so your not too far behind the tech in 2 years when the XM6s come out, I think the upgrade is also worth it because although the sound quality seems to be uniticably improved, the comfort, styling, and NC all combine for a worthy upgrade experience.

Also some quirks that impressed me that people don't buy headphones for:

The interaction feedback sounds are super cool like bass strings when u interact with buttons and trackpad unlike the annoying beeps and ugly sounding female voice on the XM4. The track pad feels amazing and responds amazingly relative to the crappy XM4 trackpad. I would describe using it like touching a glass slate floating next to your ear. Even the buttons feel much more luxurious by being more clicky. They also got rid of manual optimization which may have been a gimmick, but nonetheless, the headphones feel more futuristic through all the simplicity added to the experience.

The headphones would've been perfect, if it wouldn't start breaking within a few months. All three of the pairs I've had, the touch sensor would love to act up and just have a mind of its own, so I can't use the touch sensor. My first pair ended up having the right cup fall off, my second pair ended up not being able to charge anymore, and now my third pair doesn't have sound on the right side. I want to love these headphones but they always find a way to break on their own. It's infuriating.

I purchased these on woot for around $280, I think the headphone Audio quality is good, but the ANC is just not that great unfortunately. It's just 'ok' . You can hear someone talking infront of you, you can hear the TV if you're sitting 8 ft away.

I believe these used to be better. There was an update that applied ' ai' or something to the noise canceling and that according to some might be the reason.

Très bon casque, très léger et pratique à transporter au quotidien.
Le soucis comme avec les autres casques de la gamme c'est le prix qui est beaucoup trop élevé pour ce que c'est clairement et, je conseille à tout le monde de désactiver l'assistant et le toucher tactile sur les deux côtés, pour contrôler le son et les changements de chansons car il est beaucoup trop sensible : quand on chante pendant qu'on écoute de la musique, l'assistant vocale coupe la musique automatiquement en pendant qu'on est en train de lui demander quelques chose et dès qu'il y a un mouvement un peu brusque de la tête, la musique s'arrête systématiquement pensant qu'on est en train d'enlever le casque ; ça devient insupportable à la longue.

J'aurais aussi espéré avoir un casque plus solide au niveau des extrémités : on sent sue c'est assez fragile et qu'il fait faire très attention pour éviter de casser les tiges extéreures.

Venant d'un modèle d'une autre marque bien connue pour ses enceintes et casques commençant par le lettre M dont j'ai pu être déçu sur son utilisation à long terme, je me suis renseigner pour changer et me rapprocher en qualité et fonctionnalité.
Après des jours de recherches et comparaisons, je me suis penché vers ce casque Sony WH-1000XM5 dont j'ai fais son acquisition le 10/2023 et pour ma part, j'ai été agréablement surpris par cet article qui ne m'a pas du tout déçu malgré son prix.
Après 5 mois d'utilisation (avion, voyage, jeux, travail, ...) Je ne peux que conseiller ce casque aux personnes les plus exigeantes de part ses options, son ergonomie, sa qualité de réduction de bruit bluffant, ainsi que son confort avec des lunettes qui ne gêne absolument pas !
Si je devais faire une toute petite remarque à propos de ce casque, c'est son poids qui après quelques heures se fait légèrement ressentir sur le haut de mon crâne mais malgré cela, ça ne vaut pas une étoile en moins. :)
