Product Description
The ATH-PRO7X professional DJ headphones combine the comfort and low-profile style of an on-ear design with powerful 45 mm drivers capable of handling 2,000 mW of input power. This combination gives DJs extremely accurate high-fidelity audio reproduction – even at loud volumes – from a pair of headphones that are easy to wear through even the longest gigs. The ATH-PRO7X headphones come with two interchangeable cables – a 1.2 m - 3.0 m (3.9' - 9.8') coiled cable and 1.2 m (3.9') straight cable – that lock in place to ensure a secure connection during active DJ use. The headphones are lightweight, but built to hold up under rough use. And the soft durable earpads and headband are designed to provide hours of listening comfort.

HD-25 feels more solid in hands with its solid strong plastic construction, while DT-1350 comes in second place construction wise but feels like unique pair of headphones with its metal solid construction and cost a heavy amount $199
Sound quality wise Ath pro7x tops both the Sennheiser HD-25 and DT-1350 in comparison. HD-25 offers clear highs with slightly v shaped sound with solid tight bass slam with no sound stage to it. Ath-pro7x tops the senn HD-25 with its crystal clear extended top end with clear neutral mids, while bass remains clear tight punchy with a very good amount of sub-bass. Ath pro7x hight sensitivity can make it a good pair with any smartphone or with a little mp3 player without the need of additional amplification.
On the other hand DT-1350 is kind of harder to drive with high 80ohm rating, but it offers very wide sound stage compare to Audio-Technica sound stage which goes little bit narrow sort of vertical. DT-1350 offers very good amount of imaging and resolution but , this $59 Audio-Technica offers almost the same sound quality as of DT-1350 for a lower amount of price. highs are sharper and clear on ath-pro7x in comparison to DT-1350. DT-1350 offers little bit rounded forward mellow liquidish mids, while pro7x mids remain neutral clear with full detail and resolution. pro7x delivers more bass quantity wise but compare to DT1350 bass definition and detail slam and sub-bass sounds clear fast and punchy. great for nickleback rock music.
I will always choose Ath pro7x over HD-25 and DT-1350 for the SQ these Audio-Technica are able to deliver at way lower price compare to the other two.
Fyi pro7x also sounds better compare to headphones I have owned, Ath50x, Ath40x, Ws1100i, Srg440, JVC s500, harx700, portapro, ksc75,pioneer hdjx7, hyperx cloud alpha, pioneer hrm5, sony v6, mdr7506 koss dj200, tascam th-02, grado sr60i, panasonic htf600, philips shp9500, akg240, sennheiser hd558, hd518, hd598, audio-technica ws99 and ws55. jvc ha-s400

After testing them with a number of genres (rap, uk dub, jazz, rock) using my Hiby R3 Pro (all 16 bit flacs or higher)
It does best with vocal, rock, jazz or anything airy sounding like lil peep. It defines the bass well, but not very fun, so it is as marketed (these are geared towards DJ's so naturally it would have that monitor-esuqe features)
Sound is lovely but the earpads are a bit of an issue as the sound leaking from these are crazy due to incomplete seal on ear. highly recommend replacement ear pads (I think 70mm would be perfect fit, my 75mm pads wont fit)
But for 60 USD what more can you ask for?
As a studio headphone? Much better. Since the sound is so detailed and not fatiguing. I swear these are the drivers from the M70x.
I hope you have a smaller head. The headband where the metal meets the plastic sounds creaky. Stretch it too much and it might snap. If you've used the HDJ 2000 MK1, you know what I'm talking about.
What do they sound like? I've included the graph from Headphonecheck. Compare it to the M60x curve from Rtings. Then find the M70x driver specs on Audio Technica's website.

Only worth buying on a really good sale and if you're ok with lack of adjustable ear cups and on-ear.
However there's a HUGE design flaw. I only had these a couple of months and on the left-hand side the headband plastic snapped.
I repaired that side and within only a couple of weeks the right-hand side snapped.
As shown in the photo, there is a joint and the plastic on the opposite side of this joint is EXACTLY where the headband plastic snaps. A straight break directly along this seam.
I want to add that all I ever did was open the headphones enough to get them over my ears. After the left-hand side broke I handled them VERY lightly and opened them with only millimeters to spare--BARELY enough to get them on my ears...
Putting them on was when both breaks occurred. I used epoxy glue to do the repair both times. Since then they've re-snapped MANY times... It's important to note that once the snap occurs the headphones do NOT even come close to sitting on the ears correctly, making it impossible to ignored or simply leave "as-is".
I've done some searching on the net and I'm certainly not the only one who has experienced this.
For me, I will NEVER buy these again. BTW, I've also got a set of Audio-Technica ATH-M20x headphones, purchased in 2018, that are just fine. They don't sound nearly as nice but with a totally different headband design they've never given me any trouble whatsoever.
It's too bad because the ATH-PRO7X headphones really do have exceptional sound! But unfortunately, paired with an exceptional design flaw.
