Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I bought this turntable prior to knowing its issues with footfalls. Luckily, I have never had problems with it (I’ve lived on the second floor in two places with it). When it works it is a beautiful sounding turntable. Super detailed, has a ton of punch. I love the thing.
Still I would take what other reviewers have said into consideration. I am lucky that the places I’ve lived have had sturdy floors.
A solution that seems to solve the footfall problem is to upgrade the tonearm to a satisfy tonearm at the front end of purchase. Everything I have read states this gets rid of the footfall problems and is an excellent tonearm (my clearaudio is equipped with the stock verify tonearm as I have never needed to upgrade it. If you get this I would consider getting the satisfy up front because it comes at a large discount if you buy it at the same time as the turntable).
Another thing I would say is the setup for this turntable is fussy. I would only recommend getting this if you have a dealer near by that you trust to help you with the setup.
If you are considering buying this be very up front and express your concerns to your dealer, see if you can work something out if there are problems.
All of these things certainly make this turntable not for everyone, but if you get it right it’s a fabulous sounding piece of equipment.
A fantastic turntable. Sounds incredible. Materials and build quality are top-notch. Be warned, though: you MUST have a solid, isolated platform or the tonearm is very likely to pick up vibrations. Mine had to be wall mounted to avoid skips caused by footfalls. The sensitivity comes from the tonearm design: it's drawn to the top of the housing via magnets, but is separated by a tension wire, which means the tonearm basically floats. Pre-set at the factory, setup is only a matter of plugging it in and putting on the platter. Highly recommended.
What the "authorized" dealers won't tell you about the verify tonearm is that it's an untested technology in real world situations. What they won't tell you is that you are stuck with a useless turntable unless you have it mounted on a platform on a solid concrete floor. Any apartment or home with wood floors is a guaranteed fail as far as being able to play this and they offer no remedy whatsoever. I was told to buy a wall mount. If you have a wall mount in your budget then by all means go ahead and buy this. ONCE YOU PLAY THE TURNTABLE AND THE CARTRIDGE IS USED YOU ARE S.O.L.

Be warned, you absolutely need the upgraded tonearm. The concept is simply not very good. By upgrading to the satisfy black or the satisfy carbon it becomes a completely amazing TT for the price. I purchased from Upscaleaudio, these guys rock.
